It's crazy how this series was everywhere on the internet in the late 2000s, but now it is completely forgotten. Why is that?

>>288656392(OP) People who watched it don't talk about it much anymore because there's nothing left to talk about. No significant amount of people watch the show for the first time in recent times because everybody is a faggot with shit taste now. That's all.
>>288656392(OP) i tried rewatching it fairly recently and there was way more lazy panning and 3D CGI usage than i remember; my memories of this show is that it was good looking & well animated but every single time we get some sick sequence with his guns in the early episodes it's CGI slop.
>>288656392(OP) Maybe cuz its old and there is no point in talking about it so much?

>>288660440 enough to distract an autist, at least; i get drawing something mechanical and symmetrical in perspective & motion over and over and over is taxing so i don't even fault them really, it's why 99% of all the mecha we get now are 3D CGI too, but it is distracting nonetheless.

>>288656392(OP) It was a pretty entertaining complete adaptation of the manga once it finally came out, but that's it. There isn't really much left to discuss at this point, the spinoff is dead and even if you wanted to pivot towards talking about Drifters, it's on the same sort of hiatus hell that HxH is on. Possibly worse.
It's still pretty entertaining for what it is though.

>BRO YOU NEED TO TALK ABOUT STUFF FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER AND KEEP RECYCLING IT INTO GAY TIKTOK MEMES Hellsing still holds and it's remembered whatever you think

>>288660606 What the fuck, really? I guess I have managed to completely ignore that then. Let's hope that it will actually settle into a normal release schedule then.

It's still one of the greatest of all time, but much like LotGH if you like it you already tend to understand the deeper stuff it argues.

>>288656392(OP) I've been watching it these days, I keep missing the OVAs but I also can't believe it ended before we got a decent amount of information on what Millennium even was >>288661734 >the deeper stuff it argues. I-I've yet to catch any of this, but I'm only 3/10 episodes in

>>288662212 Hellsing is one of those shows that gets better with each episode. Most of the deeper stuff is towards the end, and the strength of it is that is twists common tropes in interesting ways and has some of the best characters I have seen.

>>288662337 Also Hellsing is the only show I have ever seen where I would recommend the english dub over the sub.
>>288660366 I watch it every year for Halloween and it never bothered me.

>>288662407 I'm not talking about passable. I'm talking about almost a pure upgrade. The dub is either equal to or better than the Japanese for basically everything and the major especially is a standout in the dub. Having seen both his dialogue in the sub is incredibly repetitive but in the dub it is flat out inspired in multiple areas. If you don't believe me watch his monologue at the beginning of episode 10 right before the captain for both then come back to me.

>>288656392(OP) It was so fucking based. I miss Hellsing man. Drifters is cool too though

>>288662337 Alright, I'll be looking forward to it >>288662371 I like Nakata and Wakamoto too much to do that, but maybe in the rewatch!
>>288662520 I like Wakamoto in other stuff (pic very much related) and it pains me to say this, but I think the dub is better for Anderson. It just fits him better. But I'm also not the type of person who obsesses over Seiyus and I only know a couple by name. Wakamoto is one of the few I do know though.

>>288662602 Well Alucard's the seiyuu for Kotomine as well as Pucci, so he definitely compliments the "dark but related to religious people" thing for Alucard. But a Wakamoto fan still preferring the dub does speak volumes about the dub. >and it's my nigga Reuenthal no less Good man Afaik the only times i've heard exceedingly high praises for dubs were >Cromartie High >Cowboy Bebop >G Gundam >Space Dandy >Kill La Kill >Black Lagoon And Ghost Stories as an honorable mention
