I don't have any fass food apps, am I really missing out on good deals? Can I use the app for delivery or are you forced to visit the franchise f2f? if the app isn't useful enough for me I really don't want it collecting my data, whereabouts, sending my banking details to Chiner, making audio recordings of my bowel movements, etc

Did you miss the memo or something? Do you just expect a company to give you good deals for nothing in exchange? I provide biometrics to some apps in exchange for buy 2 get 3 deals, free morning coffee, etc. Im not a fan of it or anything, but its the age we live in. I'm happy to get a discount on delicious food.

Amazon already has personalized pricing but grocery stores are never going to do it on an individualized basis because it violates the SNAP Equality rules which say retailers cannot charge SNAP (food stamp) users prices that are different from non-SNAP users. And it's both ways, so they can't just give food stamp recipients the lowest prices. If a store accepts SNAP, which pretty much all of them do because it's so much guaranteed business, personalized prices on anything SNAP eligible is illegal. For things that aren't SNAP eligible like hot chicken, they could do personalized pricing but given how small of a percentage of food items that is, they're unlikely to bother.
At most you might see time based pricing, where items are most expensive during busy shopping hours. That might not violate SNAP rules because everyone in the store at that time, SNAP or not, pays the higher price. Either way, it looks like states are starting to pass laws that prohibit multiple price changes per day. So maybe higher prices on Saturday than on Tuesday, which is quite limiting.
