>To enjoy your hobby you should hide it I should listen to cartoons more, you can't really like stuff nowadays and tell others what you like, including here, without getting laughed at.

>>154160709(OP) Tell me about it. There's a reason this board is anonymous.
>>154160709(OP) Why do you care about being laughed at?

>>154160709(OP) >nowadays Anon this cartoon came out during a time where you’d be ridiculed as an adult for simply owning an action figure or taking a passing interest in a “nerdy” activity. If anything “liking things” is accepted more than ever, it’s the degree of weirdo energy you give off that puts people off. It’s like when guys say “I got made fun of for liking anime in high school” when the real reason they got mad fun of was because they were a visibly greasy, smelly weirdo who ran like Naruto in gym class and wore the same Gurren Lagaan shirt to school every day. You need to be normal about what you like, but liking it is just fine to most people. Fanboyism isn’t.
>>154161060 I would be lying if I said it doesn't annoy me when it happens but blue boards like /co/ are supposed to be about shared hobbies, and when irony mode is on you don't get to talk about what you enjoyed

>>154161079 I used Candace not as an example of what I like because liking Phineas and Ferb is pretty tame but because the lesson of that episode was that Candace can express he enjoyment -ish
>>154160709(OP) This has always been weird for me. My dad is a highly educated and successful small business, he has always been always the smartest person I know, fucking loves comic books, big X-Men and Doom Patrol fan in the 70s and 80s, played video games, loves Tolkien, watches cartoons, not shy about any of it. Fo me the idea that "nerd stuff" is something to be ashamed if is a made up thing for tv, like bullies shoving you into lockers or Goth girls.

>>154161089 Just got to make threads for the things you like and engage as you can when threads show up. It's going to be bad sometimes but got to roll with it.
