I got a new 25.4 cc 2-stroke power head from ECHO and was using it today. I did not expect it to be as powerful as it is. It's the PAS-2620 model and it has a modular attachment system. I was using the string trimmer attachment with it and it was obliterating everything in its path with ease. It's super fun to use, I'm going to play with it some more tomorrow. Coming from a 4-stroke Craftsman, the ECHO somehow feels more powerful than that. And the string is much more durable, I don't know why that is.

Not to sound like a shill, I guess the downsides are it's pretty expensive and with 2-stroke you have to mix 2-stroke oil with gasoline. Which isn't too bad and if you factor in that you can use the power head with all sorts of attachments it might save you money compared to buying a bunch of different dedicated non-modular power equipment. It's super powerful so you get what you pay for I guess. Can't wait to use it some more.

Anyway, what power equipment have you anons been using?

I've liked the Sthil Kombisystem on an KM 131. So far I've not been disappointed.

i just gave my kombi 111 and 4 attachments away because that 4 mix pos fucker never ran right even with a new $125 genuine kraut carb
it was too heavy for a weedeater. the hedge trimmer and edger were awkward as shit. and the broom was gutless

Holy crap that thing must be a beast. Interesting design that it has a 4-stroke engine but lubricated like a 2-stroke.

Craftsman has a 4 stroke engine for lawn attachments. It's honestly not bad. You just have to pour in ethanol-free gas as needed. Routine oil changes which is as easy as tilting the unit into a pan and then pouring a few ounces of SAE 30 oil in it. It's pretty powerful and gets the job done.

What was it doing? Do you use ethanol-free gas? Because gas with ethanol will gum up the carburetor. Same bullshit happens with walk behind mowers. I've been using ethanol-free gas and have never had problems since. Before that I would have to clean out the carb bowl often which was tedious. Ethanol gas just ain't worth it.

that thing was always just a terrible performer and cantankerous. i bought it off my brotherinlaw for $300 even they moved away and hed bought it new. he was a moron but smart enough not to straight gas shit because hed had a little lawn business
itd always struggle to accelerate and never make full throttle like the hi passage was clogged. and temperamental to dial in then completely different the next use
and if it didnt have a belly full of 92 octane with high dollar synthetic oil at exactly 50:1 (not a drop more) or it flat out refused to start.
so id had it and gave it to a neighbors friend and even gave him the special extra thin wall 4mm deep socket driver to bypass the faggotproof adjusters

I've been using a Stihl Kombi KM 131 for years now. Still like the gas engine, still have it, but recently picked up a Stihl KMA-200 R, to take advantage of their "free battery" sale shit, and honestly, I like the electric more.
It's more convenient, quieter, and doesn't seem to lack any power compared to the 131. No fucking with gas and oil is a benefit, but most importantly, the 131 would make my hands shake like a drunk for hours after, even with shock-absorbing gloves, while the 200R doesnt
