>>18719019 >is megamare similar to other orto parisi frags Yes and no. It’s pretty much completely different in terms of profile, but Gualtieri sometimes shuffles puzzle pieces between his compositions. So Megamare uses a similar musky base to the one in Bergamask and Risvelium. This gives them a similar texture even though theyre all different profiles.
>SOTD Memoir It’s slowly growing on me. The woody absinthe top was not exactly to my tastes to start but I am beginning to appreciate it more for the liveliness it adds. If you like mature, dry and slightly bitter masculine scents like Antaeus, Memoir is worth checking out.

I've had a sample of Tauer's incense extreme for years and every so often I'd spray it and think it's the best fragrance ever made, yet I never buy a full bottle. Hmmmm.

>>18719332 >like the first whiff of incense smoke Tell that to the man who made it. You have been to the wrong churches. To me it smells like the lingering smell of a place where incense has been lit a while ago and very dusty old clothes.

>>18718996 Megamare is the king of aquatics imo. Works incredibly well in both warmer and colder weather. The scent opens up differently depending on temp, I find that with some more heat it even develops a subtle touch of sweetness. The similarity between it and Boadicea Aqua Sapphire is ridiculous. It's almost silly, side by side it starts getting really difficult to tell them apart. Take that for what you will, but it goes to show note writeups online are often mainly a suggestion

>>18719299 You tried Versace Dreamer? I get the same feeling from it like with Kouros
>>18719162 >they dont make wearble colognes only for the sake of art i really wouldnt say that, because what is perfumery really? Im sure as an art form im severely ignorant of its nuances... but im still confident in saying its peak isnt department store designers and white labeled "l'homme" citrus-woody stuff. Not saying im above that either, most of my collection is designer stuff i can wear and "smell good" to normies.. just maybe that i try to engage with perfumery beyond that. I would say imaginary authors falls somewhere between those two, none of the frags would feel out of place at sephora.. but some people would describe some of the smells as "not good" based on preferance, whereas i have a hard time imagining someone describing YSL Y that way. Hope that makes sense, and even if you skip them for now id say well worth doubling back to sample.

Hola /fa/ggots I was out walking on the beach in Spain and I think I found a large lump and smaller pieces of ambergris over 2.5kg. I'm not 100% it's the real deal but the smell is sweet and woody fragrance and pungent. Anyone have any idea on how to grade (outside of ai/Google search) and to find a buyer if it's legit.

Picked up some decants for the summer > Beach Hut Man Amouage > Interlude Man Amouage > Interlude Black Iris Amouage > 40 Knots Xerjoff > XJ 1861 Naxos Xerjoff
Initial thoughts: Beach Hut wasn't what I was expecting. 40 Knots either.

Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)18:19:24
>>18719491 Cool, I'll have to try both and decide. ACDD was very impressive to me just off the sprayer at the store.
>>18719500 I also tried 40 Knots and found it underwhelming, mostly powder and amber. There is a mineral aspect in there, but overall the marine theme seems misplaced.

>TOP SECRET fragrance tech for /frag/ anons ONLY This better not leave this place, I don't want to see it end up on tiktok or youtube. >Fragrance: Dior Purple Oud >Prologue: Fragrance reviews are easily misguided and even the consensus can be wrong. Notes are simply advertising suggestions and even when listed wrong people take them as gospel and swear to smell them. >Abstract: Everyone got Purple Oud wrong thinking it's a heavy winter scent but it's very versatile and can be worn in summer. >Summary: I have been experimenting with the fragrance. It has gotten me multiple compliments but I wear it very sparingly. I had a feeling that it would work in summer because it wasn't very dense. Yesterday night the base reminded me of Mugler Cologne, which confused the fuck out of me. Why would an oud fragrance smell like a fresh cologne? Obviously the answer is that Purple Oud has "orange" and Mugler Cologne has "orange blossom", "neroli", and "petitgrain". Purple Oud never smelled very orangy to me but it does have a general citrus smell throughout. I get a lot of Fahrenheit from Purple Oud, with its gasoline like smell. So to me Purple Oud is kind of a mixture of Fahrenheit and Mugler Cologne. If they named it "Dior Purple" I think people would have been more open minded and not categorize it as a winter fragrance. (inb4 It's not real oud, it's western oud. I know, not relevant here.) >Conclusion Try Purple Oud, go sample it if you can and report back if you agree or disagree. >Further work: It's very hot today. I might douse myself in it and see if it holds up.
