I think that what makes Greg's hairstyle so weird, so bad is that his hair is long yet entirely behind his ears. It's like he has no hair on the sides or front of his head. It's entirely on the back of his head. Almost like he shaved the front and sides bald and only left the hair on the back. Compared to Kris for example (or any other normal person) who has hair on the sides of his head as well as the front.

it looks weird because he combs it all back and pulls the sides behind his ears and then wears it under a baseball cap. i know this because i do the same thing sometimes. its a good way to wear a hat with long hair without getting "hat hair" when you take the hat off. it looks super goofy on him for two major reasons: his hair's too long for it to look good, and his caps are all very shallow crowned. if you have medium hair and the right cap that actually goes down to your ears, it sorta just looks like a mullet. good for a quick dog walk or grocery store run when you haven't showered.
i think he does it to be more anonymous and because he doesn't know enough about fashion/hair to make it look good.
