>>109006141 Using an equalizer to change how a device sounds diverts its primary function from what was intended by the manufacturer. And while this is not bad, it shows that what is considered as good sounding is purely subjective.
>>109006217 Sure, but other than listening to a performance live and done by the best possible musicians, everything else will have some form of distortion. Be it a bee flying, wind blowing, or in the case of digital sound the type of encoding that was used. Plus everyone's hearing is different so even the perfect sound will not be perceived by many people simply because their hearing organ can't process the sound.

What's the go-to 3.5mm/USB-C dongle right now? I use Abigail (that meme one from back then, on CX31993) with my laptop, but now I've finally lowered my standards enough to buy a smart(?)phone without a 3.5mm jack. Are the OP-post and the shopping guide valid?
I'd have a hard time finding non-EU Apple dongle where I live. Knowing their cables build quality (I've had iPod Shuffle 4 and iPad 3), I wouldn't want it for my phone anyway.
Basically, all I want is something cheap with a good enough durability, while not being absolutely crap with the sound. Though, my song library is mostly mp3, so I don't have big standards in the first place.

once again reminding you of the absolute supremacy of the samsung AKG EO-IG955.
do not step onto the ladder of chink vaporware audio equipment. the solution is far, far cheaper. you do not need any of this junk. this thread should be discontinued before any more anons are sold 'entry' into a never ending consumerism 'hobby' that accomplishes nothing and was solved by a pair of $13 earbuds.
ive written enough. there will just be more coping.

>>109009961 Realize that until Harman manufacturers were basically throwing shit at the wall without even checking what sticks. Most still do. There's no consistency whatsoever. Even with Harman there are still clear segments with different preferences.

Sivga Que, Juzear Defiant or Dumu Kima 2? Or something else under €100, I guess. Listen to mainly female vocals and some instrumental stuff (jazz, math rock). Also for watching films.
>>109010447 que is in 3rd place imo. defiant and kima are quite different to compare, but both are solid overall packages. i'd go kima, slight bias for it as an underrated pick (deserves more attention than it gets)

>>109010447 i made a post previous thread about Artti R1. was a $90 iem, but clearance sale on aliexpress + coins discount it's under $30. should suit your genres

>>109007744 If 31993 works for you then you can just use it on your phone. For me it's too noisy. Cirrus DACs including apple dongle are under fire right now due to the clicking issue. I can vouch for es9280c and jcally ap7, they never let me down.
>>109011302 A lot more similar than they are different, biggest fork in the road is their comfort, both are better than average while using two different approaches.

>>109011302 >is Fission just better overall? they're the same driver. Nora's shell is designed that its inner shell handles the flow of sound waves, whereas Fission has switchable onboard filters and swappable nozzles for extra tuning options.
the only thing f**o is solving is 5 out of 10 existing bugs with constant firmware updates until the next pos they shit out

>>109011327 1GB model could hold 300 songs at 128kbit/s, not the best quality but decent for its time. Besides the fact that modern players can't play 3 songs for 50 hours to begin with. That's also not mentioning the older chip's fab method were measured in micrometers, not nanometers, yet they sip power in comparison to much more modern chips.
