Dynamic pricing and corporate/state surveillance should be destroyed at all costs. Why? Because it will literally kill you eventually. If some corporation has a monopoly over a utility or a need and doesn't like you simply because you are black or white or jewish or something, they will force the prices high for you specifically and manipulate the economy around you until you are dead. At the same time, they will exploit marketing and public relations methods to condition both you and the people around you until you kill yourself. This already happens.

the problem is that the genie doesn't go back into the lamp. if in 5 years people go "hey this is too much actually, i don't like having to get my face scanned to pick up an amazon delivery", the data is already out there.

do you guys not think about ways to bypass this? like actually. people go "just stop using X website". but if i could bypass the verification then i could keep using the website. it's the same as using a burner phone number or a burner email for a website sign up. i don't just "not use the forum" because they want an email. in the same way, i'm surprised i don't see more people talking about how to exploit face verification or whatever.

i'm 30. i went to a lot of festivals in my early and mid 20s. in the past few years, the festivals i've went to have been pretty shitty. more expensive, worse amenities, overselling tickets, worse safety. it's just a cash grab. livenation has basically monopolized the market. they bought out festival owners and have exclusivity contracts with artists.
and when i talk to people my age about it who also go to festivals, they all know what i'm talking about and they agree.
but the problem is that for all the people younger than me-- this is just the way festivals are. this is all they've known.

but it was the same for me and the people 10-15 years older than me. it was already pozzed by corporations when i started going.

what i'm trying to say is that by choosing to not participate, you're not actually fixing the problem. because there are more new people coming on board all the time. people who have no clue what it was like before. this is just the way it is, and they don't even know what they're missing out on.

and the sinister thing is that if you wait long enough, there will be a whole new cycle. you'll be long dead and your children and grandchildren will live in a world worse than you could have ever imagined, but for them it's normal.
