The only religions I can take seriously are ones that have a legitimate explanation for why this reality is the way it is. Gnosticism has the Demiurge to explain why this specific reality is so fucked up, Buddhism has multiple planes of reality with this one as a lower and less pleasant plane, with certain higher planes being notable specifically because the beings there can subsist on ambient energy rather than consuming one another, etc etc

I'll accept this as one of multiple realities, I'll accept a flawed creator making a flawed creation, but the concept of an omnipotent, benevolent god who created this world is a pure contradiction and no amount of theological cope will dismiss that fact.

This wasn’t against God’s choice, but the just expression of His holy will. The world deserved to be subjected to the curse, because Adam its head deserved it. Nor was God “helpless” to stop the fall, but all things whatsoever happen in time occur according to the wise counsel of His sovereign providence. God intended that the fall of man would happen, to bring about the greater good of the cross.
