They had 6951 traces, of them 4197 were "crime guns" (dunno why the other 2800 weren't), and of the 4197, 2814 could be traced. Of those 2814, 71% were long guns from Canada (1998 guns), 17% were smuggled handguns (478) and 9% were domestic handguns (253).
My guess is that these guns are seized in the course of investigations and not necessarily used since the number of gun homicides across all of Canada is less than 300 annually (and long guns are used in murders far less than handguns) so these numbers really just prove that American supplies are more than sufficient to accommodate shootings and murders in Canada even if all guns were banned here.

Initially I bought the $50 receiver with the thoughts that "maybe ill get a special license like a 12.6, given justin's globalization push. If they want it back, oh well"
I didn't even bother buying a barrel, stock, trigger, etc. but eventually they wanted it back so I had to declare the receiver. They decided to give me $550 for the damn thing.
So I drove an hour to drop the fucker off at the RCMP drop off point and at my scheduled time. There's two guys at the gate bullshitting, one by a tent, and another that was walking around with the volenteers that were going to the cars to check the licenses and grab the boxes (they shipped the boxes to put the declared items into).
All in all I didn't even leave my car and it took less than ten minutes. 1/2
Yeah, well, we're a single income household and I've got three kids under 10. I've got bigger things to worry about than keeping a frame that hasn't moved in 6 years.
If I had kept it, what would that outcome be?
