in many societies things like marriage laws, parental/reproductive rights, etc. are altered due to the inherent queerness of intersex bodies. in places where they are legally registered as a third sex instead of male or female, intersex people often lose out on marriage rights out of fear for it being a gay marriage. often it is effeminate males and "hermaphrodites" that get lumped into the same categories when a "third gender" exists in a society.

You know fellow intersexes, something has come to my attention. It is known by now, that the powers school is discovering increasingly the overlap of transgender and having some kind of weird enzyme thing in your genes. I’ve been talking with some elders lately, and I really thing we need to consider that sex vs gender is a bit of a distinction without a difference. I would propose Metasexgender as a general term for intersex and transgender experiences, and strongly consider keeping our intersex communities but beginning to organize and communicate with transes in the interests we all share.
