We are using the Reading Greek course of books from the Joint Association of Classical Teachers. Speaking Greek is an accompanying pair of audio CDs that you might find helpful, it can be downloaded along with the rest of the material from Anna's Archive or z-lib
This first week we are taking it slow, *just* the alphabet, which is in section one of the volume Grammar and Exercises, please memorize the entire alphabet and complete the written exercises at the end. The accompanying audio is tracks 1-8 of Speaking Greek
The reason why we are taking a whole week for the alphabet, which can be learned in one sitting, is because it gives time to people who want to order hard copies of the material as opposed to downloading it, and because it gives more people an opportunity to get involved from the beginning without having to struggle to catch up

>>25323737(OP) Will you continue making threads for this or will you give up after a handful? I'm ~2 years into Latin and feel ready to start dabbling with Greek. Studying as a group would motivate me to take it seriously, but if it fizzles out after a month I'm afraid I'll have wasted time I should have spent on my Latin.
>>25323752 Ok I will make an account and check it out.

>>25323737(OP) I fucking hate these books that are split up into multiple volumes. Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata does it too. Fuck you kike. I'm not using this shit. I'm using Anabasis, in my own pace.
>>25329631 It's a community of sick freaks. I saw them kick out someone because he wouldn't play along with some retarded furfags delusions of them having paws that exploded or that being in a freshly painted room was the same as doing cocaine, absolutely nuts
>>25329388 no it's not dumbass, it's like latin vs spanish

>>25323737(OP) >didn't even provide download links >just buy all this shit or go find it >oh and do what I say >join my discord fuck you, go back to your school, retard
Also a tip, when a pdf doesn't line up the way it's supposed to for two-page view, as the Text and Vocabulary book, which is supposed to have page 4 on the left and 5 on the right, then print the pdf as pdf, but for pages type "1, 3-320". That means page 2 is deleted, which is just a blank page. Now page 4 and 5 are in the same two-page view.

>>25333132 There's no need to be upset. You can obtain all the media necessary to complete the course in your own way whether you join the Discord or not. If we remain steadfast in our determination, there's no way we will fail to succeed!

>>25333144 This site is for discussion, not for posting a link to another site where you discuss. Enjoy your ban faggot. This thread has had zero discussion, it was merely posted to shill your discord channel. Yeah I can find books on my own by looking for them, so? I can find any book. A thread either gives me something or it discusses something, or it's a fucking waste of catalog space. kys faggot

>>25333183 I understand your concern. Keep in mind that the syllabus for this week was just to acquire the books, read the section on the alphabet in the grammar volume, and complete the exercises for that section. It should come as no surprise then if the majority of the posts in this thread are about acquiring the textbook. Joining OP's Discord channel is by no means necessary to participate, and he expressed his intention to continue posting threads on /lit. If you want to see more discussion of this week's assignment, you can post pictures of your homework here. I would love to see your work, and I'm sure others would too.
If for whatever reason you're not interested in participating in this Greek self-study course, thank you for taking your time to engage with the thread and helping to keep it bumped anyway. It's posters like you who help make this board what it is.

>>25334664 You don't have to join the Discord server. You can participate in the challenge from the comfort this board. The only context in which OP mentioned his Discord was as an index for future threads.

You can just check the board catalog if you want.
We all know that we have start with the Greeks, but how many of us here actually know Greek? I know I don't. Reading in translation doesn't count. If we can't engage with the authors in their original language, we have to admit that we never even began. We are illiterate.

I was interested in this but I don't really like how OP handled that troll at all and I think managing to defame yourself when I already agree with you and think you're right has to be a red flag on this whole operation
