Too much work for something that's not at all similar to what we do here.
/mlp/con (and by extension others like marecon) is good because it understands the medium it takes place in (the internet; cytube, the board, etc) and takes the best of that and of irl conventions to make a good, quite unique event.
Unlike things like Ponies Online that try too hard to bring irl conventions to the virtual world and end up being a dissapointment and boring-fest, both as an internet experience (they don't take advantage of or even try to embrace everything the internet has to offer) and as an irl convention experience (they try to replicate something impossible to replicate online)
Also, do you really think that at least 20% of the anons on the entire board have VR headsets?

Hello "MLP the early days" guys here.
My panel idea (which desu I did badly on the spreadsheet) is basically a powerpoint to talk specifically about the birth of this fandom on /co/, so basically focus only between october 2010 and February 2011 with the /b/ explosion. I would talk about the state of 4chan and the internet, the General and Archive, the first drawfags, our interaction with Faust and crew etc, with pics. I feel with how many people joined later it'd be an interesting topic.

... however, a combination of work obligation, family stuff me not able to get the days before off, WC and 4CC, and other stuff makes me fear I wont have time to properly prepare correctly everything, especially as it'd be my first foray in streaming/panels. So I'm heavily considering postponing this to marecon next year.

I feel kinda bad for doing that since it seems this cons needs the panels but I hope corp wouldn't mind.

I was thinking of hosting a 1-hour HaxBall panel or something like that on sunday night with pony stadiums, considering that more than a few will be caught up in World Cup fever. Although I’m not sure how HaxBall would handle such large groups, so idk

Yeah sports are kind of boring but normgroids still care about them for some bizarre reason.
Like formula racing and rally is completely dead because the rules always change whenever a country actually makes better cars that outcompete others and the seethe turns into more gay restrictions like “no v12 engines” or whatever.
I feel like the same shit’s been happening to the World Cup and Olympics, it’s just boring, national spirit doesn’t even mean shit unless you’re in a country mostly full of your own people.
