>>130539457 This genre has a real problem with bands that make one amazing album then fuck off forever. Funny enough I made a Texas is the Reason OP because I just seen them live for a 30th anniversary tour (what the fuck)
They were really good although they played quite a bit slower live. I just can't believe they got back together for it.

>>130539500 Saw them too in London for their 30th, so good to see they still got it and played their whole discog.

>listened to Goodbye Sky Harbor yesterday >expected an epic masterpiece of emo >it's just a boring repetitive song where a single part gets stretched for over 10 minutes

>>130539457 Snowing > Dads > Empire Empire > The Brave Little Abacus > You Blew It! > Algernon Cadwallader But all are good. Argue with a wall.

The main genre I listen I'd say is indie rock though it's pretty various regardless as I listen to music a terrible amount of time throughout the days and have for around a decade and a half now. Still, I know a lot about ska and emo as well as indie rock to the point where I'm surprised to find a new band I never at least heard of before in those respective genres. Especially 2010s or "fourth wave" emo. That one gives me a bunch of nostalgia too. Thanks for reading my blog.
i fucking love this album bros https://youtu.be/FYL2qoADKxY?si=0GHRl9DrOZcJ6eRv

Can someone post a chart? Want to listen to some truemo but don't know where to start. I only ever listened to popemo (when I was a teenager).

>>130542535 I just mean emo that's not mainstream and poppy, like MCR (which is one of the things I listened too when I was a teen). I assume that has the same relation to emo as pop-punk (Green Day etc.) has to punk?

>>130542535 >>130542565 truemo (emocore) was very simplistic pop punk. listen to the hated
>>130539681 filtered >>130540220 >glam emo MCR - Welcome to the Black Parade (lots of '70s glam rock influence on that one that gets totally overlooked by the fans) >blackened emo lots of modern screamo has black metal influence Senza - Even a Worm Will Turn
>>130545707 >>130545711 >>130545719 I'm curious are these the "current" ish wave, like 2020s and onward? what do these bands sound like? like midwest emo from the 90s or?
Should be considered a classic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Y_8RkldTBU

Looking for modern bands (whatever the current wave is in the 2020s) stuff that sounds like 90s second wave (bands like Christie front drive, Braid, mineral, etc)
I like these types. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kkYSvKjTUk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8P9ZvbeiO8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qhk_Uk3-IpU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9zQ0U1CdbU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjB8OPHtUAY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vf4D0OFmuPs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRzKsEpnIhs
I hate how accepted the "big 5 emo waves" categorization has become (and I think Reddit is the one to blame here).
Are Raein, Daïtro, Funeral Diner and La Quiete 3rd wave? What about Boysetsonfire? Are Loma Prieta and Lord Snow 4th wave? These are all big names in emo btw, no convenient cherrypicking here
And what is "2nd wave" exactly trying to convey if it's meant to include both midwest emo and early screamo? Dumb fucking terms
>>130550192 There was a thread from a month ago where some anon posted a bunch of modern second wave bands. I personally found most of them pretty boring, except for a band called Stresser. They play tweemo along the lines of Jejune, Pohgoh and the like. I find that more inspired than, say, First Day Back, who are competent but just another band in the 20 year legacy of capn jazz clones
>>130566902 Cool chart. What is it? Emocore/post hardcore stuff?
