Almost all these are considered classics, so I guess sure. There are many classic albums that one might argue are exemplars of certain subgenres that are missing, or maybe that some albums should be replaced because more exemplary records exist for some of the metal subgenres that are represented, but it's fine. I personally don't care for many of these, but such a list isn't supposed to be about any singular person's taste, but rather about a collective consensus.

If you're going by consensus, then sales should definitely be accounted for, some albums in there didn't sell even 50k copies, that alone should disqualify it from being "essential", unless the subgenre is so niche, that those microscopic numbers still place it in the top 5.

Bristish Steel is one of Priest's weakest albums. Stained Class is my choice.
Number of the Beast is the weakest of the Dickinson classic era.
Tomb is the weakest of Cannibal Corpse Barnes era.
At the heart of Winter is where Immortal turned into ridiculous shit.
Chaos A.D. was the beggining of the end of Sepultura.
Imaginatios or Somewhere are way better albums than Nightfall in Middle Earth.
Carcass best is, without any doubt, Symphonies of Sickness.
At the Gates best work is Gardens of Grief.
Solo albums by Dio and Ozzy, Mastodon and Electric Wizard don't deserve to be in an "essentials" list.

Yeah probably, those are all good albums, or albums you should know about if you're a "metalhead", although you don't need that gay 90s Sepultura album that sounds like Homeboy ass Pantera, you also don't need ulver, neurosis (nigga beats his kids geg) or Mastadon (why the fuck are they there? not metal at all) also that Queensryche record is overrated, listen to the EP and the first two records, they are way better. Also, listen to the first two Death records instead of the 90s hipster junk, and if you like Alters of madness, listen to "Abominations of Desolation" its a lot better
But, I'll say this, you have a lack of Thrash. As the reisdent "Mu Thrasher" I'd say this. You should listen to (at minimum) Exodus-Bonded by blood, Sacrifice-Torment In Fire, Razor-Violent Restitution, listen to kill em all and ride the lightning instead of that mid-ass Master of puppets (I like four songs of that record) You also gotta check out Sodom, In the sign of evil, Kreator Pleasure to kill, Destruction's Infernal Overkill, Hirax's first two records, Whiplash's first two records, Incubus Serpent Temptations, Rigor Mortis Rigor Mortis, Morbid Saint's first album, and the first four Overkill records.
