>>2868178 Species of bear that lives in some places in NW US and Canada. They live up in glaciers in caves they dig out of ice (hence the name) and come down in the night to hunt. Really dangerous as they're the only species of bear other than polar bears that actually hunt and eat humans. They can run something like 90 mph I hear.

>>2868699 Well given the fact there has only been 1 since the 90's, this kind of proves the idea
>>2868156(OP) I grew up around coyotes and black bears and as a little kid never worried much about them, even though the coyotes would howl all night and killed our cats and one dog over the years, the bears would rip the doors off our shed and trash bins.
As an adult I've realized how much caution for black bears I should have had all those years. Black bears kill more people in North America than brown or polar bears combined, and when they kill it's predatory and not self-defense. I feel lucky to have survived so many run-ins with black bears, especially the ones where I was a little kid and basically a takeaway lunch for them.

>>2868786 >>2868826 >>2868828 Not a lot of people know about glacier bears. The government likes to keep their existence on the down low because if the word got out too much then it could seriously damage tourism in the west. Those fuckers are scary intelligent and can and will hunt and eat humans. I've heard of them downing trees to block and trap people driving down back roads in the country. They peel the car doors right off and drag the passengers out. Scary stuff.

And remember that you're 10,000 more likely to see a man than a bear there, so unless men killed >10,000 people in GNP since the 90s then it looks like feminists just suck at risk assessment

150 to 200 fatal attacks from brown bears worldwide over the past 30 years. Solid evidence is hard to find as tracking is inconsistent across multiple countries and regions.
The number I found was 664 total attacks over the past 15 years.
Definitely not a ton, but they’re not exactly in highly populated regions like California, yet. And yes, stupid Californians are trying to Bring the grizzly back to that state for reasons. None of which make any sense.

>>2869888 awesome pic you can even see the clawmarks. but you need to be careful. glacier bears are known to be migratory having different homes depending on the season/current climate. what looks abandoned might just be temporarily unoccupied and if you get caught by a returning bear you're mincemeat.
