Grab a few, take a photo of the gills (if there are any), cut them open and also take a photo of the slices. Don't assume you can ID them safely by the top of the cap. You can also use smell to ID them, but with caution - smelling good does not mean edible, what I mean is grabbing notes such as if it's closer to an oyster mushroom smell or a blue cheese smell, for example.

Claude doesn't "know". That's the problem with all predictive AI models. They don't know if what they are saying is true or not, just what the most likely answer should be based on their training data. They have no way of filtering out bad data. And they're programmed to provide you the answers you most likely want to hear, not what's true. Because, again, they don't know what's true.

If you have to ask then no, the award is just not worth the risk at all, there are so many different types that look super similar to each other even specialists mess it up and fuck up, even if those were edible and you can grab a batch of those, edible and poisonous mushrooms can grow right next to each other, so it's easy to accidentally grab a fucked one while you're at it.
