Mine is totally underrated. But the water is bad. There are many super accessible /out/ options, yet there are hardly any people. The state is insulted and overlooked, but that's the way I like it.

I live in Texas. Its absolute hell for /out/ because there's so little public land. Also it gets hot as Satan's asshole during the summer.
Probably 4/10. At least what there is to see has a some variety.

Central Michigan sucks because you have to drive like an hour to go anywhere that isn't a tiny state game area or a paved trail with a billion normies on it. But you can't beat the UP, it's just so desolate and lacking in people, I love it.

BC is a beautiful province but the weather is terrible and unironically worse than the prairies, too expensive, and the people are some of the unfriendly and stuck-up on the planet esp. Lower Mainland + Vancouver island.

I live in the prairies and fuck no it isn't. -40C in the winter followed by +35C in the summer is fucking awful. And now we also get a shitton of tornadoes every year.

Yeah I've lived in the prairies and in several places in BC and the prairies are far worse weatherwise.
Weather on the BC coast in spring, summer, and fall is about as good as it gets in Canada.
Unless you're complaining about the winter rain or something, which is still preferable to -40 and whiteout blizzard conditions.

I live in South Australia bro its so over for me, this entire state is just 90% desert, dry as fuck and if I want to hike anywhere other than the Adelaide hills I have to drive hours. I miss Sydney, I miss the Blue Mountains I grew up in. This is hell.

Absolute best state/region on earth for /out/, nothing really compares.

>At least 6 climate zones any time of year.
>Can go surfing, rock climbing, hiking and skiing in the same day with around 2.5 hours drive time.
>Best MTB trails, hiking, high Sierra, rock climbing, Mountaineering, Surfing, thousands of miles of backcountry dirt roads.

>Solitide everywhere within an hour of major populations even.

Cons:

Bulgaria Oblast.
The locals are just so damned nice. homemade fruit moonshine. Live and let live. No one gives a shit if you hunt or fish without a license. Or build a camp in the forest. No one leaves their known areas, meaning there's acres of free to use land, since the equivalent of 'state park cops' don't venture further than 5min from the nearest tavern of their area. gold panning is free to do. weirdly diverse looking scenic spots for such a small country.

Ontario has to be at least a 7 or 8, we have the best part of Lake Superior around Sleeping Giant and Pukaskwa. Bruce Peninsula might be the best part of Huron.

Plus really good paddling routes and I know it's hard to get up there but we have the Hudson's Bay region with subarctic conditions.
