>>536875424(OP) So is it truly looking like Ukraine will go after Crimea then? The Russians are retreating nearby, the logistic bridges and that main motorway is being struck. Fuel rationing is happening in Crimea.
Could have put this in actually. Vid from last thread https://en.defence-ua.com/news/ssu_alpha_secretly_strikes_two_russian_ships_without_official_announcement_svyetlyak_loses_combat_capability_buyan_artillery_ship_engulfed_in_fire-18768.html

>>536875988 Ukraine could do the funniest thing ever and suddenly do a push up north and completely wipe out the mafia republics while rusniggers are focused on >m-m-muh Crimea!
>>536875988 Not sure they need to land forces. They can just starve the buggers out. They already harass the coast with seadrone launched fpv. Big stuff gets fp-2. Important stuff gets Neptune. Supplies get a variety of mid range drones. Coastal troops get fpv. Ships get seababied. So do planes, choppers and drilling rigs.... While they have no supplies. It's honestly over for Crimea as a strategic threat. Just keep doing what they're doing and it's rapidly becoming untenable for Russians to stay there. Ukies should offer humanitarian petrol and diesel for them to leave.

>>536875480 I want him to die, but I also think it would be extremely funny for him to survive a few more years and see russia's coming civil war. Imagine this. He was handed everything on a silver platter. Top world leaders visited his military parades. Russia was invited into G7, the whole West was happy to buy russian energy, russia had real growth and a possibility of a decent future, the first time in countless decades. What a massive retard.

>>536875988 Ukraine's manpower is still constrained enough that I don't think any massive offensives to capture territory are in the offing. If they had more soldiers they could commit to large scale operations like this without compromising their ability to hold on other fronts.
There's also the fact that taking Crimea without also taking the rest of Kherson Oblast would require an amphibious assault, which is extremely risky. Ukraine has thoroughly degraded Russia's naval and air superiority around Crimea, but they have not themselves established superiority in their place. The air and sea are contested, which means trying to transport large numbers of troops by sea puts Ukraine in a very vulnerable position. Furthermore, even if the landing goes off without a hitch, the troops are basically stuck in Crimea because evacuation would be impossible if they become overwhelmed by Russian forces.
For these reasons, I think any attack on Crimea would have to come after the reconquest of Kherson Oblast, so that the land route can be used as an ingress/egress point, and any amphibious action becomes secondary instead of the only means in or out.
