When the Breach came five years ago, the skies cracked open above every major city on Earth. Streets split apart. From those cracks came dungeons: labyrinths filled with monsters, treasures, and horrors humanity was never meant to see. Creatures with too many mouths. Too many eyes. Things that screamed with human voices while tearing people apart.
Humanity survived, but only barely.
Then came the Awakened. One percent of humanity suddenly gained supernatural powers. Some could manipulate fire. Others moved faster than bullets or tore monsters apart with their bare hands. Overnight, the Awakened became celebrities, soldiers, kings. The strong rose to the top. The rest? They stayed ordinary.
Five years later, America barely resembled the country it used to be. The old corporations adapted quickly. Banks became Guilds. Mercenaries became licensed hunters. Hospitals sold healing artifacts to the rich while everyone else drowned in debt. Money wasn’t enough anymore. Now people traded monster cores, dungeon rights, and blood-soaked miracles.

Chicago, 2031.
Another twelve-hour shift wasted at Cigna Healthcare. Another day listening to your manager talk to you like you were garbage. Another day helping deny insurance claims to people who were dying because some executive wanted higher quarterly profits. The company made billions bleeding desperate people dry. And somehow, you are helping them do it. Your phone buzzes again.
BOSS: "Where the hell are those claim denials?"
Rain hammers against your windshield as your rusted car crawls through the streets. Sirens echo somewhere in the distance. Probably another gang war. Or another Dungeon outbreak. Maybe both. Outside the window, graffiti-covered apartment buildings blur past. This neighborhood was a warzone even before the dungeons appeared. Now? Now people disappear every week. Sometimes gangs killed them. Sometimes monsters did.
You let out a tired sigh, gripping the steering wheel tighter.
"If I was Awakened," you mutter, "I’d quit tomorrow."
The thought lingers longer than usual. You imagine it for a moment. If you were Awakened, everything would change. You could quit your job. Tell your boss exactly what you thought of him. Move out of this hellhole. Maybe finally stop feeling afraid every time the emergency alarms start blaring.
Maybe...
Maybe even get revenge on the people who made your life miserable.
A bitter laugh escapes your throat. Yeah. Right. People don't just become Awakened after five years. That ship has sailed long ago. You are just another exhausted office drone driving home through a dying city. Nothing more.
Then the world freezes. The rain stops midair. The radio cuts into static. And suddenly... A glowing blue screen appears before your eyes. Your foot slams on the brakes.
SCREEECH.....
The car skids violently across the rain-slick road. Your heart nearly stops. What the hell?!
A translucent screen hovers in front of your face.
[CONGRATULATIONS.]
[YOU HAVE AWAKENED.]
Then another message appears.

Choose your personality
>Hateful Bitter, arrogant, and angry at the world. You look down on others to hide how deeply you hate yourself. You’ve never had a girlfriend.
>Contemplative Detached and distant, like you’re only half-present in the world. You spend more time thinking than living. You had a girlfriend once… until she suddenly ghosted you three years ago.
>Meek You avoid conflict whenever possible. You mirror the personalities of people around you just to fit in. You have a girlfriend, but deep down, you know she doesn’t respect you.
Choose your sexual fetishes
>They can be physical features, personality traits, or other preferences. Anything is allowed.
The story will remain PG-13. Your sexual fetishes will influence the quest in subtle ways, such as characters, relationships, themes, and worldbuilding.
>>6419845 >Detached and distant, like you’re only half-present in the world. You spend more time thinking than living. You had a girlfriend once… until she suddenly ghosted you three years ago.

Nice selection. To illustrate how fetishes influence the world: if nudism wins the vote, the character will gain the Monk class, specializing in combat while fighting naked and unarmored.
>>6419845 >Contemplative >Handholding, protecting her smile, kindness, consensual procreative sex after marriage, glasses, hypnosis, Racism, Nazism, big beautiful breast, nice long straight black hair, nice smile, knows how to cook, rape, shorter than me, white mexican or asian, no blacks or jews

[SYSTEM THINKING...]
[SYSTEM THINKING...]
[YOU HAVE OBTAINED THE UNIQUE CLASS: PRIEST]
Priest? You stare at the floating screen. Of all the classes you expected, that was not one of them. Warrior. Mage. Assassin. Summoner. Those were the classes people talked about online. Those were the classes that appeared in dungeon documentaries and recruitment ads. But Priest?
Swallowing nervously, you speak the words that every Awakened knows.
"Status Window."
A larger blue screen materializes before your eyes. Your stats are pathetic. Strength. Agility. Endurance. Intelligence. All of them are average. Every number reflects exactly what you already knew. You are an overworked office employee who spends twelve hours a day sitting behind a desk denying insurance claims, and you have never accomplished anything remarkable.
But the Description Window is another matter entirely. Several abilities are listed beneath your class. One immediately catches your attention.
[HEAL]
Your eyes widen.
"No way..."
Everyone knows why dungeons are so deadly. Monsters kill people. Not immediately, most of the time. A claw wound, a broken arm, internal bleeding, infections. The injuries accumulate until eventually something goes wrong.
The only reliable treatment comes from healing potions. Unfortunately, potions are among the most valuable resources on Earth. Most low-rank hunters will never touch one. If your ability can truly heal wounds... Everything changes. Guilds would fight over you. Corporations would throw money at you. You might become one of the most valuable Awakened in the entire city.
Then another thought follows. A darker one. If good people wanted you... Bad people would too. Your stomach tightens. There are plenty of organizations that would love to lock a healer in a basement and use them forever.
You step out of the car. Without really thinking about it, you remove your jacket. Then your shirt. Then the rest. Standing naked beside an empty road should feel ridiculous. Instead, it feels strangely liberating, and your thoughts seem sharper.
Elizabeth. The name appears in your mind without warning. For ten years, she had been part of your life. You met in school and started dating shortly afterward. She was brilliant. The smartest person you had ever met. The sort of person who could solve problems that left everyone else confused. She wore glasses, kept her long black hair perfectly straight, and had a smile capable of making terrible days seem manageable. You had once promised yourself you would protect that smile forever.
Then she disappeared. Three years ago. No warning. One day she was there. The next she was gone. Looking back, it shouldn't have surprised you. Elizabeth was always difficult to understand. She spent countless nights at your apartment, yet you never learned where she lived. You never met her family. Never even learned half the things a normal couple should know about each other.
The one thing you knew for certain? She lied. Constantly. Not about important things. About everything. Ask what she ate for breakfast and she'd invent an answer. That's the type of little liar she was. And she was a little thief, too...
Hours later, you finally arrive home. Your apartment is small. One bedroom. Old furniture. Peeling paint. Nothing impressive. Still, it is the nicest place you can afford. And more importantly, it sits in one of the few neighborhoods not controlled by gangs. These days, that counts as luxury. You collapse onto your bed.
What are you supposed to do tomorrow? Quit your job? Keep pretending nothing happened? Maybe you should register with the Hunter Association. Every newly Awakened citizen is legally required to report their status. Maybe you should seek religious guidance. A Priest class has to mean something, right? Or maybe you should keep everything secret until you understand your powers.
Eventually exhaustion wins. Your eyes close.
How are you going to spend the next morning?

>Heal A powerful healing miracle. It can close wounds, mend broken bones, and cure infections. Cannot restore missing limbs. Cannot cure poison, disease, or curses.
>Samson's Strength Temporarily increases the target's strength for three minutes. Only works if the target possesses long hair.
>Adam's Armor (Exhibitionism) (Passive Ability) While completely naked, your skin hardens to the toughness of thick leather. Provides protection comparable to light armor.
>Inflict Pain (Sadism) Cause the target to experience agonizing pain, as though thorns were buried throughout their flesh. Effect lasts as long as concentration is maintained. [2 Corinthians 12:7-9]
>Priest's Voice (Hypnosis) Makes your voice more persuasive and authoritative. Effectiveness depends on the target's mental resistance.
>Ezekiel's Bread (Coprophagia) Bread baked with human or cow excrement gains minor healing properties. Effects expire twenty-four hours after baking. [Ezekiel 4:12-15]
>Delilah's Curse (Bimbofication) (Homosexuality) Failed spells have a chance of afflicting the target with bimbofication, regardless of gender. Effects are cumulative. Can only be removed by completing the System Quest: [THE FALL OF CHICAGO]
Three unread text messages wait on your phone. All from your boss. You ignore every single one.
Restoration Church is only a short walk from your apartment, located on West Berteau Avenue. A modest brick tower rises above the entrance, giving the church a medieval appearance. Inside, sunlight pours through tall windows. The atmosphere feels peaceful.
Near one side of the sanctuary, several people are rehearsing with musical instruments. You decide to pray.
The moment you kneel, a strange warmth flows through your body. The sensation is calming. For a split second, a vision flashes before your eyes. A giant dollar sign. Then a deep voice echoes inside your mind. "No man can serve two masters." Pain explodes through your skull. You gasp and open your eyes. The vision vanishes and the church returns.
After asking for directions, you are eventually introduced to Hue Doan. He was supervising the band rehearsal when you arrived. He's a fit Vietnamese man with an easy smile and an air of confidence. When he sees you approaching, he calls for a short break and invites you to sit down.
The neighborhood is located just south of Albany Park, an area historically known for its large Korean community. Seeing Asian faces around here is common. That had actually been one of the reasons you moved nearby. Of course, the rent helped too.
"I recently Awakened," you explain. "I'm looking for guidance. I don't know whether I should keep living normally or do something else with these abilities. Maybe explore dungeons. Maybe dedicate myself to some greater purpose."
Hue nods thoughtfully. "My advice is to pursue after what Jesus tells us to pursue. Not our own desires and passions. Because when we do those things, we will not produce fruitfulness. Eventually, this pursuit of our own selfish desires and passions, sooner or later, will lead us away from God."
The vision of the dollar sign remains fresh in your mind. So you ask the obvious question. "What about work? I process insurance claims for Cigna Healthcare. It pays fairly well."
"I have a day job too. I'm Vice President at Berkley Custom Insurance Managers."
That catches you off guard. Of all the possible answers, that was not one you expected.
Hue continues. "Money is good. It helps me provide for my family. It helps support the church."
He stands. "Let's take one step at a time. We have a young woman in the church named Dahnbee. She's a deacon. Intelligent, kind, and easy to talk to. How about I arrange a coffee date for this evening? And come back on Saturday. We'll talk more."

You send a quick text message to your boss informing him that you'll be late. Then you rush back inside. A few minutes later, you're dressed in your usual office attire. The uniform of a man whose greatest daily adventure is arguing with insurance paperwork.
Perception (>>6421511): As you leave your apartment building, something catches your eye. A black Tesla Model Z is parked across the street. The moment you appear outside, the vehicle starts moving. The electric motor is nearly silent as it pulls away from the curb and disappears around a corner. You stop walking. You have seen that car before, several times.
The moment you enter the office, Mrs. Gloss, the head of your department, summons you. You sigh. That can't be good. A minute later, you're sitting across from her desk. She folds her hands together.
"Yeongya, you are two hours late. This cannot happen again."
Her voice isn't angry.
"Company policy dictates that if this happens again, I will have to issue a written warning. I'm covering for you this time, but there are limits to what I can ignore."
A written warning is serious. A few of those can permanently damage a career. Enough of them can lead to termination.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Gloss," you say. "I woke up with a terrible headache this morning. It won't happen again."
Back at your desk, you power on your computer. Like every morning, you spend a few minutes browsing the news before starting work. The headlines are fairly routine.
>Dungeon breach at Oak Woods Cemetery. Hunter Association forces have sealed off the area and requested assistance from local hunters.
>Suspected goblin sewer nests in Englewood linked to increase in disappearances. White Guild promises investigation.
Interesting, but both incidents are taking place on the South Side, far away from your neighborhood.
Eventually you open your assigned casework. The file belongs to a woman named Camelia Escamilla. You read through the report. House fire. Severe burns. Daughter deceased. Requesting coverage for skin graft surgery and follow-up treatment. Estimated cost: $30,000. You already know where this is going. Cases like this don't end up on your desk because approval is difficult. They end up on your desk because approval is easy. The surgery is clearly covered under company policy. Which is precisely why management wants another opinion. If you succeed, Cigna saves thirty thousand dollars. Roughly half your annual salary.
