It's also only one of two intoxicants besides caffeine that you can be on regardless of what else you're doing. Even surgeons, EMTs, pilots and people working on oil rigs can be on caffeine and nicotine. That makes it incredibly attractive if you have a brain or a lifestyle that makes full on unenhanced consciousness torturous.
