Didn't that start at least ten years ago? All of a sudden every man who did anything the woman didn't like was a "narcissist". It's like when a simpleton finds a new word and then applies it to everything because it makes them feel clever.

The very simple and plain answer is projection. Narcissists absolutely love calling other people narcissists. Always accuse the enemy of what you yourself are guilty of.

because everyone is a narcissist to a degree. everyone has narcissistic traits, so being able to recognize those traits in others doesnt make you wrong, it doesnt make you right either. some people show an pathological expression of narcissistic traits, but those people are rare (or common depending on your worldview), and environment dependant, so leaving that environment is optimal unless you want to become "supply."

The same reason a thief thinks everyone else is a thief.

The difference is that 4chan is the only place I see BPD used frequently as a pejorative, whereas that thing of every woman claiming that their husbands or boyfriends were all narcissists is very mainstream.
