If you look at Japan, they've spent decades investing, analyzing, and building their infrastructure from the ground up. Now that the foundation is solid, all they have to do is send their players over to Europe to get experience. When everyone comes back for national team duty, they dont rely on any single player. they play like a well oiled machine with insane teamwork. Because everything from youth development to tactical awareness, basic skills, and off the ball movement has been drilled into them from day one, carrying the team on one person's back just isn't a thing for them.

Korea used to rely on grit, stamina, and team chemistry, back when everyone rallied around a leader like Park Jisung. But once a massive superstar emerged, the fans, the KFA, and all the media marketing completely hyper fixated on that one player, and Korean football basically wasted the next ten years. Instead of building team chemistry or a unified mindset, everything became about that one player’s star power. It stopped being about actual football skills and turned into an idol like obsession, focusing on who they hang out with, where theyre traveling, their commercials, and their goal celebrations. Thats when Korean football really started losing its way.
