I budgeted 10 nights in Bangkok, which I gather is too much. Any nice places I can explore for 3ish days? I like snorkeling/diving, but I don’t want to hobnob with the normies in Phuket or whatnot.

Do I have that right? Not terrible for the cost of a 60 day visa being about 35 euro but this kinda kills the reason to have thailand on the list of SEA countries to cycle through.

I heard romurs this is due to abuse by Indian and China workers basically starting illegal businesses in the country using visa runs to "manage" them. I find it odd because here in bangkok all the signs for 1 year in Thailand and welcoming influencers.

For those living cheap in SEA what's the situation like in Malaysia? Seems they have 90 day visa free policy.


Also, what happens to the lads here already over 30 days? do they get just told to fuck off or can they stay their intended 60 days? Asking for a friend

Your time allowed is calculated upon passing the immigration gate. If you were approved for 60 days, then it stays 60 days.

My flight from Kathmandu to Bangkok is 18 days from now, and I planned to stay 38 days in the country before flying from Bangkok to Los Angeles. Fingers crossed Thai immigration still gives me sixty days visa-exempt as a burger. If not, I'm going to boogie over to the Cambodian border and spend 30 days in Cambodia, returning to Thailand for my departure flight.

That's only applicable to land border entries, which are discouraged by Thai immigration for third-country foreigners. It's up to the immigration officer to decide whether he wants you in his country or not. Of course, if you got a visa exemption stamp valid for 60 days, no rule change is going to affect that.

Malaysia has 90 days visa free but it has many unspoken issues. There is a high amount of social retardation you haven't seen anywhere else. Malaysian women, by and large, are fat, ugly, and mean to "strangers". This is a hurdle that can be overcome but the learning curve is steep. Visa changes are good. It should be 15 days to keep the trash out. If you have any money at all you can get a long visa.
