What's it like to visit/live in? I normally wouldn't consider doing any of those things, but a company in the metro wants to hire me and their price may be right.

I live there, it's kind of a dump but at least it's priced accordingly. I suggest finding a place in the west side, you'll have a better time there. The east side is hood nigga central, maybe with the exception of Shaker Heights. The downtown is pretty cool, but I would suggest not staying there once it gets dark. Enjoy Cleveland!

>>2886422 They're near Boston Heights unfortunately. Not sure I'd want a commute that long. I'm kind of over the hustle and bustle of the big city though so I wouldn't mind a nice suburban apartment.

>>2886391(OP) It’s a typical midwestern rust belt shithole that used to be kinda nice but is now half abandoned and dangerous. Very boring but cheap relative to nicer east or west coast cities so maybe worth it if you’re just looking to live by yourself.

>>2886391(OP) Ohio is one of the worst states in America to visit. Unfriendly, impatient, crowded with people from one end to the other. The green hills are pretty, but it's really not an enjoyable place to be.

>>2886391(OP) I second the west side recommendation. Your commute might not be terrible, but I wouldn't blame you for making that a deal breaker. I have a three minute walking commute, so I'm spoiled.
I won't be addressing the ghetto ass areas at all. They are obviously no go. Consult a crime map. East side is weird- kind of east coasty in some ways. Not bad necessarily, but I always lived on the west side. More comfy midwest vibes over there.
Your spot looks to be right between Cleveland and Akron, so look at Akron too. Houses are cheap there.
I say go for it if you want the job or like the company. NE Ohio can be a real good fit for some people. I love Cleveland. Just don't come to southeast Ohio. We're full.

>>2886391(OP) The only reason to seek it out is to save money on housing. Typically it's not a place you move to, it's a place you leave.

>>2886422 Shaker is literally hood nigga central but it's also libtard central. Kids are shooting each other at playgrounds and libraries but the schools are worried about black folx feeling bad for not being in AP classes.

All of this is relative to where you currently live anon.
Visiting is like most of the Midwest post industrial fallout cities. You'd be pleasantly surprised on a long weekend in the summer / fall.
It's also bc expectations are so low since the reputation of these places are it's literally on fire and you'll be shot the second you leave the airport but a gang of roving blacks.
Plenty of nice neighborhoods and plenty sketchy parts. Do your research and you'd be fine living there. COL is lower but winters suck ass if you aren't used to it. Not even the snow but the constant gray sky and no sun and unless you like football or drinking the winters can be quite boring.
>>2886391(OP) I know im going to hell for this, but consult the racial dot map. Do not live or visit any of the African American plurality areas in yellow. Plenty of nice suburbs as you go farther east
