>book flight to Egypt cause I always wanted to see the pyramids >watch youtube videos and check Redit for travel advice to Egypt >both say it's the worst place they've ever been >get scared >think I booked a flight to an Indian tier country >arrive >some of the safest, friendliest and cheap countries I've ever been to I seriously don't get the hate. Yeah there are scammers but they are obvious and go away if you say no. Is it just basedboys and women hating Egypt?

Its a toilet full of scammers you obviously didn't go
>>2888047(OP) I don't think Egypt is that unsafe if you're a man, I had no problems. However it was an incredibly annoying country because maybe 2/3rds of your interactions with people in shops or sites will try and screw you on pricing, and people will have their hand out everywhere you go if you're white. That said, the sites are amazing and there's nowhere really like it, and the Egyptians I met socially were really cool and funny. I'd recommend a tour for anything around Cairo, trying to backpack on your own is possible but irritating. Emo tours were the company I used for the pyramids

Here is a polished version of your text with the spelling and grammar corrected, while keeping your exact tone, slang, and style intact:
Corrected Version Yeah pretty much. I've had to live there for a few months of my life on and off (not an Egyptian). I would tell you first that Egypt's problems are actually mainly Cairo's problems. Egypt is one of those large countries where regionalism actually matters when it comes to the experience. With that being said, Egypt, due to historical reasons, has been labeled a "normie" destination, so it attracts a lot of people who, well, wouldn't want to go there in the first place.
Thailand, IMO, has a lot of the same issues Cairo has, but guess what? People get easy pussy and cheap booze there, so they don't care. Delhi is a lot worse than Cairo, but guess what? "Muh yoga" and Krishna, or whatever, so it gets a pass from some. But Cairo is Muslim with no cheap women and booze, sooooo people are more aware of the BS.
I honestly had a more unfun experience in Morocco, though that was just me. Most westerners who complain about Cairo, I feel, have issues with the noise, or the haggling, or the streets not being clean, or the noise being too loud but guess what? That's like most of the world, lol. The "Egypt bad" experience is just normies getting culture shocked, IMO. If you've traveled around Asia, I don't think you would see Egypt as that bad. I can recommend some small Western YouTubers who I think were not such pussies about Egypt; one is a woman, actually.

But Cairo is Muslim with no cheap women and booze, sooooo people are more aware of the BS. this is just why MENA people get demonized and absolutely libeled in general. they mate guard. you can't just go to Iraq or Yemen, hell even Lebanon and be a gross passport bro. you will be killed.
asian women are for sale, MENA ones aren't.
there would be more enthusiasm for the region here if this place had real travelers and not just losers who failed at life in the west.

>>2888047(OP) when I was in Egypt I took some trash down from my room to the dumpster in the alley and a 7 year old girl popped OUT OF THE DUMPSTER and said "Hello!"
also on the trip back to the airport there was some stop and go traffic on the highway and there were dirty barefoot 5 year old girls on the street that would grab onto the car when the window was rolled down and hang on to the car as the driver sped up to 20 mph speeds before slowing down. the driver yelled at her in Arabic to leave us alone. Never seen some shit like that in my life.
>>2888047(OP) >Is it just basedboys and women hating Egypt? i know there are no (real) women on 4chan, so it's not super relevant
but I traveled to Egypt with my wife and I'm a really /fit/ and really tall guy, so people don't try shit when I'm around (even in countries like India) but as soon as I got away a few meters from my wife, or went to the bathroom or for whatever reason left her alone, she instantly got borderline assaulted by Egyptian guys as soon as I came back they disbanded quickly in the end this lead to me literally never leaving her side (like not even letting her go to the bathroom alone, I did follow her right to the entrance and waited there)
>Yeah there are scammers but they are obvious and go away if you say no for the most part true many normies don't know how to say no correctly, hence some of the bad trip reports
though I wouldn't say it's always obvious of course the shop or restaurant once are but many other countries have plenty really nice people you'll meet, that are just nice for the sake of it Egypt has far less of those at least not where tourists commonly go
and also plenty corruption with actual, real scams like police colluding with some scammer and wanting you to pay for some imaginary bullshit
