This is one of the worst movies I've seen in years. Its shittiness has nothing to do with the queer subject matter. The writing, pacing, characters, and the entire concept are all incredibly weak. Yet it's clear they were convinced they were doing something profound. What a joke.

I think the film was working with some interesting concepts that had some promise, but they really didn't pull it together. A lot of polarizing discourse surrounding the film seems to center around the queer issues, but I have no problem with that. But I also don't think the film should be applauded simply for broaching trans issues. It just wasn't a well made film.
