what makes me particularly sad is when people act like progress hasn't been made, like we're just as sexist, racist etc. as we ever were, when there has been real and significant progress made. Like barely any white males get hired anymore for entry level roles. That's progress. That's because there's power in the perception of victimhood.
So long as you maintain the public perception that you are part of some disadvantaged, unfairly treated demographic, you can guilt people into treating you better, give you special perks and free stuff.

No "oppressed" demographic, women, blacks, trannies, etc, is interested in ever cutting these free perks off, even if the alleged problems they complained about to start getting the perks in the first place have long since disappeared, or even reversed entirely. (Like how women demanded they receive extra money to go to college because they got less degrees than men, but now women earn more degrees than men but they haven't stopped demanding the free money, if anything they've continued to demand even more free money)
