>>740877496(OP) Probably because on these fights you are just trying to not get hit by stuff for 90% of the fight. I did enjoy doing it on Critical but I doubt I would ever do it again.

>>740877496(OP) Because KH3 gameplay in general is inferior to KH2.
>>740877496(OP) Overall, KH2 is the better game for many reasons, but KH3 has better combat than KH2, but only in ReMind and Data Fights. KH2 only shows its jankiness in the Data Fights and Terra.
Yozora is literally the greatest single fight in the entire KH franchise.

>>740877496(OP) Xehanort steals all of Sora’s powers at the end of the previous game and in kh3 he starts over from scratch and develops a different fighting style

>>740877496(OP) they took too long. the fun left us long ago and not even the whimsy of Goofy could bring out the inner kid.
>>740877496(OP) Because the game is shit. Every boss is just waiting until the boss does something so you can shotlock them. The extra bosses in KH3 feel like waiting game bosses, while in KH2 the boss fights are much more freeform; you don't have to do reaction commands, and you don't have to wait until the enemy is vulnerable to attack them. The extra bosses in KH3 are turn-based bosses.

did all 3 games back to back (non numbered games suck my balls) and the data fights in 3 are the best bosses in the series by far

>>740877496(OP) You don't have Reflect to cheese every fight anymore.

Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)18:10:53
>>740877496(OP) fun fact I haven't even seen this yet because my friend didn't buy the dlc and I didn't bother playing KH3 myself despite owning the dlc because it was fucking awful. and we played the ENTIRE series. (- coded) at least I did he don't have the 2.8 collection either.

Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)18:11:20
>>740877496(OP) My man, half of Kh2 org13 boss fights are glorified gimmick battles. Kh3 actually lets you battle them

>>740878885 >garsh. I still feel the dOrkness tugging on my heart, Donald.
>>740878584 The Data Fights and Terra are what redeems KH2’s combat. The other fights in the game are too easy for the combat to be utilised to its fullest potential.

>>740879327 I read that this is to keep the knight guy locked into pseudo hit stun otherwise he'd tear you apart. Is that true
00
Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)18:21:33
>>740879564 Essentially, yes. KH2 has a system where enemies will automatically counter you after you land so many hits on them to prevent you from stunlocking them to death. However, some types of attack get you closer to that combo limit than others, so by using nothing but the basic aerial finisher repeatedly, the tracker for the limit keeps resetting which allows an infinite stunlock. This works on about 50-60% of the humanoid bosses in the game.
>>740879327 >maximum cheese with perfect timing or get fucking whipped to negative health after 2 and point 1 bars of hp >bro why is this so easy? retard
>>740880478 God forbid you use anything but reflect and finisher cheese, you'll get buttraped by everything but Lexaeus

Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)18:35:23
>>740880478 i beat LW without even using final form bro, I actually kept dodging perfectly for at least 5 minutes when he spams his limit break because my bro was cooking and I didn't want them to miss the finish (and then they did anyway because they don't listen to me)

Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)18:39:42
>>740879862 >>740879987 Revenge Values (RVs). It's a garbage fucking system made to punish the player for being good at the game. KH2 is fantastic up until the superbosses, where its combat bursts at the seams and shows all of its flaws. If you don't understand how to play around and manipulate RVs midfight, some data bosses become downright nigh-fucking-impossible (Demyx, Axel, Larxene, Xigbar)
>>740877496(OP) I honestly got filtered by those bosses and took a break only to never comeback. I was playing on critical too after the easy base game
I have to admit KH2 really filtered me. I can't deal with so many fucking systems and effects, trying to remember what form drive limit thing does what to who, trying to make weird effects like magnet work correctly, then timing something else specific to combo with that, needing to keep switching between this and that to get MP back or grind on peons to build drive gauge before a boss, it's too fucking much. That's not even getting into the "revenge meter" thing I have no fucking clue how it works or how to read it on enemies.
Just let me beat motherfuckers up, man.

Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)19:30:16
>>740884275 KH2 is overall a way easier game than KH1. You only need to get into all that autistic shit for the superbosses on Critical.

>>740877496(OP) a big thing people don't talk about enough is that the animation in KH3 is trash compared to KH1 and KH2
00
Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)19:34:34
>>740877496(OP) I quite liked the data org fights in KH3. more than the data fights in 2 honestly, though 2 as a whole clears 3.

Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)19:38:53
>>740881223 >for being good at the game maybe if there was some actual execution to combos sure, but it's really not hard to keep combos going in KH2. that's why RVs exist, because if they didn't you'd need one opening and then it'd be mashing X until they died.

Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)19:39:45
I did one hit ko's cheat and just got done with it.

Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)19:40:55
>>740877496(OP) It's memorization trash. The game does not reward you except when you attack in its programmed in intentional hitstun windows, because otherwise the bosses do not react to your attacks at all. The most skill expression you can show is counter timing mid-enemy combo for some chip damage, or minmaxing your uninterrupted combos with slightly more damage that might save you a single combo the entire fight.
Either that, or you cheese it with the game's awful balancing and spam fire magic with the dual claw form, or how some shotlocks completely ruin a handful of them. It's the type of unintentional design that isn't fun at all.

00
Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)19:42:54
>>740885223 They didn’t do the best job at that considering KH2’s biggest complaint was it being “mash X to win” upon release anyway.
00
Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)19:47:45
>>740885514 sure but that's always going to be the case for the story content on normal right? it's a square action RPG, which means the mandatory content has to be balanced around casual play. Like there isn't one KH game that isn't >mash attack to win on the main path on normal. the ease of combo execution is this way entirely on purpose, to let casuals juggle regular enemies easily so they feel cool. so RVs are there to give bosses who can be combo'd a chance to escape and fight back, unless you know the cheese strats of course. the actual hard fights are basically always cordoned off to the optional bosses and harder modes.

>>740883848 Can't talk about Demyx and Xigbar because I haven't beaten them yet, but Vexen and especially Luxord were fun. I'm not enjoying Demyx because I feel like I have to force myself to use ethers/elixirs to replenish MP and I want to do the fights itemless.
