It's pretty good for a $20 game. Fucking punishing though, and I'm not convinced by the way they've designed their healing potion mechanic.

I sorta expect this to get solved by upgrades later but the early game is really punishing. Especially since enemies can move and attack on diagonals while Mina can't really. That part is probably my actual biggest bugbear right now.

with all the platforming that you gotta do it is insane how much falling HURTS. especially with a damage modifier. i became more afraid of pits than the enemies after a certain point

A fair amount of the dogshit design gets 'solved' but it also means you use most of your trinket slots on solving issues that they introduced to create trinkets to solve (and by extension stop you using anything actually interesting without a pointless level of friction on top of it.)
The game is overflowing with pointless mechanics lifted haphazardly from better, retro games purely because 'more is always better' as far as I can tell. I can only imagine it was even worse before they delayed it months.

I'm surprised how well the other weapons work. Normally in most games when they offer multiple weapons, the default one will always have more depth even in triple A games. The busters been really neat.
