There was no lack of it; the playable area shown was blatantly a Bernal Sphere-type space colony, and there was the prow of a crashed spaceship sticking up from the 'ground', in a crater.

honestly, it was lame as fuck, especially watching that retarded giant robot animating at 15 fps in the background while you ran away. XB2 had nice character designs for the blades, but the animation budget plummeted because of that and the overall setting was basically just bionis leg except stretched over the course of an entire game.
