>Life is Strange (LiS) - Don’t Nod’s teenage trauma simulator set in Arcadia Bay. Max Caulfield, shy photography nerd and disaster lesbian-in-waiting, gets rewind powers after reuniting with Chloe Price, her blue-haired best friend and emotional grenade. Storms, grief, desire, and one choice fandom will argue about forever.
>Before the Storm (BtS) - Deck Nine’s Chloe prequel. No time powers, just grief, rage, and Rachel Amber entering Chloe’s life like a lit match. Theatre kid drama, flannel feelings, and two girls staring hard enough to warp weather.
>Life is Strange 2 (LiS2) - Don’t Nod’s road-trip sequel following Sean and Daniel Diaz after tragedy forces them to flee across America. As Daniel’s powers grow, Sean must guide him while facing racism, grief, poverty, state violence, and life on the run.
>True Colors (TC) - Deck Nine’s mountain-town feelings bomb. Alex Chen reaches Haven Springs, uncovers grief, secrets, corporate rot, and the curse of feeling everyone else at full volume. Bisexual lighting, Steph Gingrich, rooftop yearning, excellent jackets.
>Double Exposure (DE) - Max returns, older, sadder, and allergic to a normal semester. At Caledon, Safi is murdered and Max starts shifting timelines. Mystery, academic lesbians, timeline nonsense, and Max as reality’s chew toy.
>Reunion (Reunion) - Max and Chloe back together, because soulmates make causality file complaints. Rewind returns, Caledon remains cursed, and the series circles back to them. Closure, pain, gay nonsense, and two women finding each other however hard reality tries to split the bill.
>Lost Records: Bloom & Rage (LR) - Don’t Nod’s spiritual cousin, split between 1995 and 2022. Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat make a band, a pact, lose each other, and drag VHS secrets into adulthood. Riot grrrl vibes, forest weirdness, charged friendships, past waiting in the trees.
Other franchise and related games discussion welcome!
This is my team for that new 3-team mode in Haikyu Fly High! I think I've got an even spread, since I don't like having just 1 super team and the rest weak.
>>570060294 It’s probably just the natural decline since the first game, with a much bigger exodus after DE. The original LiS crowd had already been thinning out for years, and DE pushed a lot of the remaining crowd into either checking out, lurking, or waiting to see whether Reunion could actually land the plane.
Now that Reunion is out, it feels like a final marker for a lot of people. Whether they liked it, hated it, or just felt emotionally done afterwards, it has that “end of the main ride” feeling. Not necessarily the franchise ending, but the old Arcadia Bay/Max and Chloe emotional engine finally reaching its last station.
There’s still stuff coming, of course. Out of Focus is on the way, and the TV adaptation is well underway, so the franchise isn’t dead. But the games side feels like it has crossed a line. The original fandom energy has changed shape.
Honestly, /lisg/ has been punching above its weight for years. For a series with long gaps, uneven releases, and a fanbase permanently arguing with its own reflection in a cracked bathroom mirror, it’s kind of impressive the general kept going as long as it did.

>>570125072 >>570126465 TC and BtS were previously the two worst games in the franchise. They’re the only ones I didn’t even bother finishing because they were too boring and felt pointless. The only moment worth mentioning in TC is her brother’s reflection on the orphanage during Alex’s nightmare. In BtS, it’s the conversation with Steph in the school yard and the Tempest play

>>570128998 I think a lot of people have simply drifted away over the years. The franchise is all over the place, and at the same time it's really only the first game that have made people stick around, And now that that's done, there's simply no reason to stick around anymore for most people.
I can feel it myself. I'll stick around for the TV show and the book, but after that, I think it'll be time to let go. To be honest, I don't have particularly high hopes for either. The people involved don't exactly have a long track record of great work.
What's strange is that letting go feels weird. I've been checking in and out of this community for years, and I have a lot of fond memories of the discussions we used to have here.

>>570060294 It's dying everywhere. Reddit is a wasteland without any interesting discussion. Tumblr only has art, and a lot less of it than there used to be. Twitter is just insane teenage girls screaming at one another, and Discord is filled with bald, overweight dudes who follow the religion of Pricefield

Why don't TC have fans?

>>570137802 There used to be a few, and they got two books and two comics. I think if they got more games there could have been something there

>>570137802 TC did well and was liked by eveyone with no controversy, but it was just bland and tootuless. You can't build a franchise out of something that anemic

>>570137802 I liked Alex as a main character, but the game wasn't nearly as good as the Don't Nod games and, while I think it's overall better than BTS, the best scenes in TC are not as good emotionally as the best scenes in that one, either. It's just not a particularly good game.

>>570139605 And that’s why BtS still has fans while TC has very few left

>>570139747 Most of BtS fans are just the few remaining Amberprice fans
>>570133959 I'm also waiting for the book and TV show before I say good bye. I hope at least the book is controversial so that we get one last shitshow

>>570140112 There are still a few of those. But give it a few more years and I think they will be dead. Unless the show revives them.

If the TV show starts the whole Pricefield and Amberprice mess again I'll leave. I can't take round two of that shit

>>570140553 >Unless the show revives them The show is going to bring discussions, but not necessarily a revival of the fandom, as the black Kate discourse has shown

>>570136132 This is a direct result of how garbage the last game was. I 100% agree with the anon who said it doesn’t leave room for any meaningful continuation of the characters' stories, let alone the whole franchise. I guess the clown who wrote it didn't foresee this effect at all. That's why he's desperately reposting literally insane people who scream that we need more games and that Max's story should go on.
