This is great, but I'm worried nobody will use these.

>>2031062 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohm5CVdutrw Not needing to use it is the best case scenario.
>>2036079 It's inconsistent, since it doesn't work the way Ring Boost or normal boosts do. It's not just a flat +7 speed.
Upon release you get roughly +7 Speed that gradually decreases over ~0.5 seconds (35-36 frames). For the duration of the boost, the speedometer will then continue jumping up +5 Speed and sinking in ~0.30s (19 frames) before going back up again ~0.10s (5-6 frames) later.
The way the speedometer fluctuates indicates there's something wrong with the gadget being bugged, as the speed fluctuating / resetting shouldn't be the case. If it were just a flat +5 Speed for the entire duration, it'd have some merit, but as it stands now it's not really usable, since the overall effect is much much lower than +7 to speed.

>>2036524 what the hell I thought it'd be better than ring boost given you can't really run both it and perfect bounty in parallel and it doesn't offer the benefit of actually accumulating rings

>>2036527 Yeah, this is why it's important to test things instead of believing stats bars and text at face value. Speed, Accel, Power, hidden vehicle quirks and buffs, it's just par for the course in racing games. Stat bars almost always lie to you, it's annoying but that's just how it usually is. Happy to help, at least.

>unless you're invincible being first in the third lap is a death sentence >therefore your performance in the first 2 laps barely matters >therefore the whole thing is just a slot machine decided by the final stretch I'm becoming disillusioned bros, the magic is running out

>>2036873 Yeah, a balance patch would go a long way. They did say on their roadmap that they'd release at minimum four balance patches between now and the end of 2026, but they're sure taking their sweet time... the meta may be "balanced" between invulnerable giga-sweats, item resistant slipstream bros and bagging scum, but it sure ain't as fun as >>>/vm/ctr , >>>/vm/srb2k or ASRT imo.
Ichiban will be out in three days. Festival starts in four days. Here are the rewards: The gadget is called Comeback Kit, exact effects TBD. However, if the data mine from a few months ago is to be believed (link in the OP), it's going to be pretty bad.
>>2041290 The v thread is (and this one too), but the game will be fine. I'm in enough external communities to know that for sure. Sonic fans are very, very, /very/ autistic.
00
Anonymous11/03/25(Mon)07:24:25
>>2041290 No, those threads lasted longer than anyone could have imagined.

Anonymous11/03/25(Mon)07:39:42
>>2041353 Autists and coomers are very good at keeping threads alive because both types are unemployed
00
Anonymous11/03/25(Mon)09:58:42
>>2041353 two full months of uninterrupted autism. no breaks. no gaps. no limitations. even when no one could play the damn game, people were posting. completely wild ride, and so much better than anything in the Sonic general. despite the freaks erping and dumping garbage overnight.
honestly I'm expecting it to come right back the moment the festival rolls around, but it's been long in the tooth as it is.

>>2041463 >honestly I'm expecting it to come right back the moment the festival rolls around, but it's been long in the tooth as it is. Of course, weekend threads and festival threads will still be active made, as it should be.

I'm confused on what speed modifiers stack and don't stack I know the ring count is its own separate thing and stacks with everything But do drifts stack with boost pads? If I'm in a slipstream do I bother drifting? What about ring boost? Should I be prioritizing a wide line with it or still hug the corner?
00
Anonymous11/04/25(Tue)18:47:01
well, i could host a lobby. but is anyone even here?
00
Anonymous11/04/25(Tue)20:12:20
>>2043307 only way to know is to test it, that's how that one guy figured out the slipstream cap and that ring boosts are counted as part of the slipstream cap i think boost pads are similar to drifts, but unlike drifts you can go off-road with boost pads if they're strong enough (see: estadium lap 3) >>2043400 most players are still on v even though it's sputtering out. check the thread with amy's face on it over there. personally i only host lobbies during festivals and do other things in between
is trick adept even worth it? seems like it doesn't do shit for the majority of jumps
00
Anonymous11/06/25(Thu)21:15:48
>>2046607 Is that the 1 slot one? 1 slot one is fairly useless it'll at most nab you one extra trick on very few jumps.

Festival in three and a half hours! will be playing with v when it starts.
>>2046467 Top half bags well, bottom half has Mini Ring Boost. That kind of setup is coherent enough to get you to Legend 9 no problem. >>2046607 Adept (and Expert, and Bounty) are not really worth it, but they're fun and simple. Adept gives +25% to trick speed, Expert gives +75%. It's a good effect, but not the kind of effect that's worth dedicating three slots to.

Anonymous11/07/25(Fri)05:30:51
>>2046732 Expert I can see a lot of utility in because in tracks with small ramps getting 1 or 2 extra spins is massive for making distance relative to other guys But adept just doesn't do enough
HARRO, gaijin pureya-san! I am barantsu patchi man!! pureasu gibbu thothsu! >NERF DRILL, ends way quicker when ahead, and also in the last stretch regardless of position, also deals much less damage time. >tornado deals less damage time, and only 20 rings >slicer deals much less damage time .>when dropping items behind you while drifting, it drops inwards, like the angle boxing gloves and slicers chase you at. Just make them more reliable at defending overall, maybe a different, bigger hitbox specifically for hitting other items? >void doesn't stay in your item slot while being used In exchange, >ultimate charge's invincibility only lasts 2 seconds instead of 3, and the invincibility has a telltale rainbow effect like mario kart Of course that rainbow glow won't help much online, but still, at least try to make it distinctive for other players.
Also, if the delay's gonna be this unreliable, at least severely reduce knockback when colliding with other players when online, cause it's ridiculous how easy it is to get smushed into walls by players who probably aren't even doing that to you on their screen. I'd take making the power stat help protect you from it too, but with everything else I'm proposing that might just make slipstream power builds the new centralizing meta, and I'd rather have many viable playstyles.

Anonymous11/12/25(Wed)18:44:09
>>2056331 abib had his way with it again... >>2056283 I wouldn't do exactly this, but these are more or less all the pain points that need to be tweaked
Gadget usage in the Top 100 (cross-platform) as of November 11, 2025:
* 75 of the top 100 use the Technical Drift + QC2 + QC3 + Ultimate Charge build. The next most represented build is Inventory Plus + Inventory Swap + Wisp Up with 6 users. The third most represented build is Drift Kit + Air Trick Expert + Air Trick Bounty at 4 users. The other 15 users are all over the place.

>>2056283 If they nerf the drill they better nerf all attack items.
I was front running on Metal Harbor last night and got put into 10th place by a bunch of items that hit me one after another. It was only thanks to a drill that I was still able to not lose points over that bullshit
00
Anonymous11/13/25(Thu)15:38:44
>>2057283 bads like to complain about muh three trucks and two drills raped me on the finish line, but gloves, saws, boos and red warp ring attacks are way more of a threat for front-runners than those things, let alone the complete lack of shields that drop for you

is anyone else dreading the spongebob festival next week or is it just me and my old bones
00
Anonymous11/14/25(Fri)01:56:47
>>2058624 Depends on the modes, as always. Festivals are the one time you can easily play with others so they are the most fun for me.

>>2056514 So basically only stuff that lets you survive the final shitstorm, nothing that surprising I guess Silver surfer is the only way to force 1sts while bagging is still pretty luck based, so that's much more popular
00
Anonymous11/14/25(Fri)09:41:53
>>2056514 I'm impressed by the fact air trick expert is even on the radar Must be really good on some maps
