They said so in Plebbit AMA. It boiled down to they want to make it good before a F2P relaunch because they will only have one shot. Problem is they keep making retarded decisions and they just made BP harder to finish (sign of desperation) so maybe the publisher will stop funding before that but that's unlikely since the game sold 3+ million copies, they probably think there's cows to be milked.
On the other hand before I stopped playing I often saw some retards with paid skins so who knows how much money the game is actually making past the initial purchase.

Personally gonna do some private lobbies with my poorfag friends, it's a fun party game but the competitive aspect leaves a lot to be desired. Also who knows >when< it will go F2P, they haven't given any sort of ETA. Could be before the end of this year, could be in 2027. The most logical thing would be gunning for a release during the World Cup, but they are still missing some key features for football normalfags (making clubs, tourneys n shieet)

Released way too early full of bugs + missed some features + footy fans don't pay for vidya unless it's FIFA or GTA
Also there's a big disconnect between the hardcore competitive part of the community and the overwhelming majority that just want to play this like a party game and LARP as a Blue Lock character, sadly in this game they have to interact instead of being segregated like in Rocket League. Plus devs are nerfing exploits (good) but also not giving more options to do fun plays, so the meta is closer to regular football than an arcade game.

I am on my 11th straight loss because the only games I get now are either

The second one is noticeably infuriating. They just stand there because they know they do not have to try to get open, the priority system will just give them a free shot. The only counter is using the dive button works or hope that the goalie predicts it.

I swear the only new players this game gets are the people you never want in a match.

>take shots outside of the box that are easy as day for the goalie to save.
>refuse to play goalie, run out of the box.
Add in all the other new player elements (can't dribble, can't defend, overuse sliding tackle) and having a new player on your team just makes the game almost as unenjoyable as having the sweaty animation exploiters.

They are also adding (at some point) goalie deflects aka the ball will bounce off the goalie instead of him taking possession, so expect a lot of people to shoot directly at goalies for deflection shots.

Did they change how season pass XP work from last season or is it still dailies and weekly challenges slop ? It was better when you gained XP just from playing the game.

Game is still "alive" but I have no desire to relaunch it, not because I don't like the game or I am bored but because the stars need to align to have an enjoyable match between people who refuse to teamplay or glitch abusers.
It's obvious now that the paid version is just a beta test for the F2P launch that will probably happen at the end of summer, but it will die again unless they turn it around and I have huge doubts about this. The simple fact that they're collaborating with some eceleb retard that has been trying to force this game as esports slop since the beggining is a dead giveaway and they can't even do the bare minimum like posting patch notes on platforms other than their official website (what the FUCK is their CM doing? They don't even post outside of discord).

Apparently the GK changes this season are quite awful but I'm not gonna try this season anyway.

I am tired of being the only person who actually notices and covers cherry pickers. I want to be able to actually take the ball and shoot it without turning around and seeing all of my teammates in the box with me when there is one or more cherry pickers. I actually like playing goalie, but I know that nine times out of ten I will have zero help.
I refuse to learn the glitch exploits because there is no reason for them to be in the game and I am not going to rely on them.

Are they? Sounds good to me on paper, no more EZ goalie saves. Was awful that all a goalie had to do was be in the general area and he would always catch the ball. Having the ball at least not always be caught despite a full power shot and it bouncing sounds like it will lead to more interesting scenarios then the keeper insta nuking the attack.
