agreed. People can make tasteful changes to era xi which make sense and add depth to the game. Phoenix is just offering plain toast. It's bland. Although Horizon was a shitshow at least Aerec tried to make some jobs more interesting or more fleshed out.

Don't bite my head off for not knowing everything about Horizon's job changes, I only know that Thief is more useful there and isn't a TH4 robot.

Yeah I did not like hardcore mode or people running around in their funny haha lockstyle outfits, among many other reasons. That's why I stopped playing there and just stuck with my last private server. Still it boasts a respectable player base despite not receiving an actual update for the last 4 years.

But there's still a handful of things that weren't entirely bad design choices.

I'm not sure if it's changed but Horizon was a summoner server when I stopped playing. It was a BST server before that but BST got nerfed into the ground while SMN remained super buffed. A single Carrie was about to hold a HNM by itself before the BST nerfs, it was ridiculous.

Yeah sure, people like the easy road, some people will even use meta stats in solo games. Unfortunately BLM/SMN spam at HNM is not something that only exists on Horizon. This isn't so much an issue with those jobs as it is with the mechanic of TP feed in FFXI. I also now remember another reason why I stopped playing there. BSTs everywhere.
