Quick FAQ >Do I need my own Pokémon to play? No, the game features a recruitment system, but transferring from Home is recommended to save time and resources. >What makes the game so much more accessible than before? All aspects of a Pokémon are customizable with VP, a currency earned simply by playing the game. IVs are also removed. Ask in the thread if you want any specific Pokémon, and someone will respond. >Is there single player content? No. >Do I need a Nintendo Online subscription? No. >What's the starter pack? US$6.99 one time purchase for 50 training tickets (fully train for free), 30 Teammate Tickets (recruit Pokemon without using VP), 50 extra box space and the LGPE trainer music. >Is anything locked behind a paywall? So far everything gameplay relevant is also purchasable with VP. Mega Kalos starters and E-Floette require ZA transfer.
I was saying earlier it was impossible to get Floette on Home a week ago. Including the one I got from here I have 5 now. So I guess I was wrong about that. Maybe someone increased the supply or something. Is there anything else I should probably try to get the Champions won't provide? Blood moon Ursaluna perhaps? A legendary?

>>59352444 with our example being n=1, its quite impossible to know. Others i can think of which wouldnt probably make people shit their pants and theoretically forces people to buy the games >ursaluna blood moon >ogerpon/terapagos >melmetal/meltan >calyrex and forms

>>59352075 Will these changes be implemented in the mainline games also? If not, that's going to be quite awkward to play

>>59352493 Perhaps in Gen 10. I doubt they will just apply changes to SV or ZA

>>59352493 Zero% chance they won't be, which is the only reason I assume they won't make many move changes going forward.

>>59352493 while i agree with the other anons most likely they will update it to gen10 also, i think it would be BETTER if champions didnt stick with whatever mainline is doing. If we are unshackled from gen10, then theoretically we can have more changes every so often to shake up the meta. Imagine if they unnerf Soul Dew or actually did the sensible thing with Dark Void, axing it from Smeargle and unnerfing it for darkrai

>>59352493 I don't think changing the status conditions outside of a competitive setting is a good idea. Sleep and paralysis are tools for you to catch things easier. It would be annoying if the Pokémon keeps waking up after 1 or 2 Pokeballs. Or if paralysis never activates and the legendary struggles itself to death faster.
>>59352456 Seeing how much people trade those I guess I'd put Paradox Beasts and Swords in there too. So basically DLC is the problem. I don't know if they would ever let you use mythicals even though they gave some new mega evolutions.
https://eggyemporium.blogspot.com/ Found an old VGC blog in my bookmarks from back in Gen VI where I took it really seriously. I think this was Wolfe's old one along with other competitors. When did become such a big deal? Gen VIII? I mostly remember him as the guy with some off meta picks who never quite made it big, and now he runs VGC. He always had it in him, but I'm just surprised by how dominant he is these days.
>>59352865 Huh, i guess he really did love exxeggutor all this time. Well for me personally i got into vgc by gen VI.

>>59352865 Really demonstrates how little, decentralized, and obscure VGC content and ideas were then. The rate of growth has been immense all through SV era.

>>59352871 I was really rooting for him when I saw the harvest Exeggutor he ran back then, it was the first time I ever was in to VGC and he felt like such an underdog back then. >>59352884 Yeah, I remember even NB was so slow. People would take days to reply sometimes. Even for things like friend safari, which was 10x faster here. It's crazy how popular VGC is now. I've been away since gen VII, and it's night and day.

>>59352865 >When did become such a big deal? in gen 8 he started uploading to youtube a lot and collab'd with big creators using his "world champion" prestige. his earlier youtube videos were actually kind of soulful until he learned how to clickbait and do the default open mouth thumbnails.
Speaking of older videos I found one james baek did so long ago about team building and its really the same shit. Nothing about team building have changed in 10 years. https://youtu.be/Nwf29C3wVQ8?si=6JRfieu0D-Y-AXYR

>>59352900 As people have noted for a few years now, the number of entrants has ballooned outside of the comfort zone for the venues. The venues are booked under contract in advance for years. Worlds 25 was apparently impossible to enter the finals arena if you didn't get there early, hence the move to the Chase Center. Indianapolis went from 688 entrants in 25 to a little over 1000 in 26. That's the Champions bump, but I expect NAIC to have a record breaking entry list too.

>59351275 The old formula did account for level. The actual formula for stats is: >HP (((Base Stat * 2) + (EV / 4) + IV) * Level) / 100) + 10 + Level >Everything else ((((Base Stat * 2) + (EV / 4) + IV) * Level) / 100) + 5) * Nature It's just level was always 50 so the formula could be resolved to ((Base Stat + (EV / 8) + (IV / 2)) + 5) * Nature
And the reason it was 510 was because in Gen 3 when they moved away from the stat experience system to the modern EV system, they used an unsigned 8 bit integer for storing the EVs in each stat. An unsigned 8 bit integer can hold from 0 to 255. It was only later in Gen 6 that they added in game logic to prevent you from going past 252 in a single stat. Basically in the Gen 3 system, they intended you to be able to at most max out two stats, or have a balanced spread, but not be able to max out all stats like in Gens 1 and 2, so the cap was 255 * 2.

>>59353716 >The old formula did account for level >It's just level was always 50 That means it doesn't account for level, it assumes it to be 50. I just mentioned that, because it's useful to visualize how EVs affect your stats even outside of VGC. >so the cap was 255 * 2 Interesting. I didn't even know there is (was) an actual cap implemented to stop you at 252. I thought you could still get to 255, they would just be wasted.
