Also, decided to read up on a battle scene for that Ficanon last thread. I looked at the battle vs. Hala as that Chapter 6 one was likely their first one they’d written and didn’t seem fair to offer feedback on it when they’d likely learned a lot 20+ chapters later. I had some nitpicks but overall the battle was good (a little too Pokemon Anime-style for my tastes but that’s a personal thing). So Ficanon if you’re reading this, don’t let any battle critiques make or break your decision about reviving Road to Mastery. We have at least one anon in here who did a multi-year hiatus and got back in the saddle and is pumping out chapters again.

I think it depends on what Kuzey's social class is exactly. Namely if he's new money or old money, you can get more into the weeds if you want to talk about rural society, polite society...etc but in general old money and new money don't get along. If they are part of the same social class I think Rhys would tolerate Kuzey, but he'd probably hate Herri since she's his least favorite type of girl. (She's also a bit like Kuzey since he can come across as deadpan and judgmental). That's not to say he'd go out of his way to voice his displeasure, he'd probably just avoid either of them if he could. But in the first case where they're part of different social classes he'd talk down to Kuzey, and end up getting into a fight.
In either case I think Crest or Sneasel are more likely to start a fight since they'd take offense on behalf of their respective masters. and have the whole Pedigree versus Mutt rivalry thing going on. The reason why they take offense would differ i.e

I think the point is that there's no reason to draw attention to genre conventions unless you're going to deal with them. Just pointing at something in your setting and saying it doesn't make sense or changing something without understanding why it is, can cause dissonance in your story. Forgive me for a moment, but there a series of book/webnovels called a Practical Guide to Evil, I don't like them much but it reminds me of how the webnovel drew attention to the medieval stasis genre convention with a fleet of super power gnomes who nuke anyone who challenge the stasis into oblivion.
It just kind of shows up then is never relevant again, if I remember correctly. The point it, it kind of just drew attention to something without the author having any idea what he wanted to do with it. So in the novel version is was removed as it was kind of an odd aside.
Of course all of that is supposing you're not writting a Konosube-esq comedy. If so, then go ham I guess.

I don't read much cultivation shit anymore but I can't think of a single protag that sticks to one sect or group instead of whatever gives them the most power at the time, unless they own it so it's just an extension of their own omnipotent self.
