I play every game that is feasible to do so with an arcade stick, as it is my preferred input type.
My personal set-up is
-Original Seimitsu LS-32 with Matsushita Switches -Seimitsu PS-14-G 30mm pushbuttons -Qanba Crystal modded with above parts
I also have several other arcade sticks modded with other parts but the above is my default controller.

>>12626660(OP) Fighting game guys do, I'm sure some shmup guys do as well. I have a couple I got cheap at funcoland back in the day but none are great. The snes one was pretty solid but outside of the typical arcade genres they're not that useful. Like I might use it for r type, tmnt or sf2 but I wouldn't use it for mega man or zelda. I made a couple sticks using some usb encoder and button kits off Amazon that are ok and I use it for mame.

>>12626660(OP) i kinda want one for Dreamcast and PS2 because the controllers are only 4 face buttons. otherwise controllers are fine

>>12626665 btw this lever and button combo is the stock combination used on Capcom's official arcade cabinets.
I play everything with an arcade stick. mostly NES and SNES games. the lever is just more accurate and more fun than a d-pad.

>>12627973 I also have this same arcade stick and it's good enough to the point I'm not sure what I'm missing out on with the Sanwa and Seimitsu hardware.
>>12626660(OP) Oh hey, that's how I map the buttons to my keyboard. Anon called me a weirdo for doing it like that.

>>12627980 I replaced both the lever and buttons with Sanwa because of the memes. the original buttons are better. the sanwa buttons feel just slightly smoother than the original 8bitdo buttons, but the activation force is annoyingly low on the Sanwa buttons so you will accidentally activate them just resting your finger on them. the Sanwa lever has a bit less travel which is better, but I also put in an oversized actuator and that really made a difference, the diagonals are a lot more natural to hit and the lever is "faster" in general. this is mostly useful for shmups or other 8-way direction games. however, the original lever is a Sanwa clone so you don't need to replace it to mod it with Sanwa parts.

>>12626675 I prefer seimitsu lever and sanwa buttons >>12626660(OP) love sticks but I'm nomadic and they're too big. in terms of performance they're identical to pad imo but they're just so fun

>>12628007 Thanks anon. I might consider a different lever at most then

>>12626675 this is wrong, capcom cabinets use sanwa parts
00
Anonymous06/11/26(Thu)18:12:16
>>12628026 That is incorrect. Capcom has never used Sanwa parts on any of their own in-house manufactured cabinets. Please do not spread misinformation about this matte.

>>12628051 capcom literally always used sanwas aside from US cabs weird thing to lie to people about, are you okay mate?
>>12628193 No, they did not. You are an idiot who doesn't know anything about this subject. Here is the inside of a NOS Street Fighter II control panel. LS-32 and PS-14-E buttons.
