Sean was actually a lot better in 2I, and Sakura was amazing in 4 (not retro I know.) She'd also be good in MvC2 if the best characters weren't as insanely broken by comparison to the rest of the roster.

He was supposed to be the main character but they got cold feet, never did much with him compared to how he was propped up, then they brought him back and made him put a baby in his sister and do a shitty job playing heel. He had a cool design and the hogan shit was cool to see but they have no idea how to make him a good character.

Sakura is one of the best characters in A2, A3 and CvS games.
She's also good in SF4 and SF5 if you want to include non-/vr/ games.
