>>12633680(OP) It was originally developed for the N64DD but Nintendo kept delaying it due to fuckery with RANDNET.

>>12633696 Adding a different display mode was the only thing that wouldn't significantly increase the ROM size, increasing the cost of production, or break compatibility with non-upgraded systems.

>people saying that Perfect Dark ran well You guys realize that you can clip out of many maps in PD just by causing lag? It skips frames so badly that you can br warped through the clipping of the level, something that only happens in Goldeneye very rarely. Perfect Dark on original hardware (not even on Hi-Res mode, mind you) runs every level about at the fps that Jungle or Cradle ran at in Goldeneye, and most manage to run even worse.
You can speed it up through two main ways: >turn the game view to "Wide" but keep the aspect ratio normal, so that the game renders less and has a more stable attempt at 20 fps across the board >use a Gameshark to turn off the transparent light flare effects which always tank the performance
>>12636124 This is fine as long as you recognize that you didn't beat the game and you had an immensely different experience to everyone else who played PD on N64. You aren't allowed to use PC footage to claim PD ran well on N64.

>>12636140 >Buy an expansion pack once >Buy a new expansion pack with each game Oh gee anon, I wonder which I'd prefer
>>12636124 The amount of fond memories I have of playing this game 4 player with bots with my friends is insane. We were still breaking out the N64 to play this shit in like 2006 even when we had 360. I want to go back.
