After hearing for years on /vr/ that TimesSplitters mogs Halo, I decided to finally play it and was left confused. What the hell are you people even talking about? >Aiming is done automatically Absolute kek. It's even more aggressive than GoldenEye's autoaim because at least there it only works at close range; in TimeSplitters you are aimbotting even at long distances. Is this what you guys are talking about when you say TimeSplitters is better than Halo? >Weapon pickups are annoying You enjoy Gun A. You have Gun B in your inventory, but don't want to use it. You want to keep using Gun A. You use Gun A to shoot an enemy dead. All is well, right? NOPE! The guy you killed was wielding Gun B, which the programmer deemed "superior" (completely arbitrary btw) to Gun A. So when you walk over his corpse and pick up his ammo, the game forcibly switches back to Gun B without your consent. Each and every time. Every time you walk over a corpse, you're left fucking helpless for a moment while everyone shoots you because you have to watch the weapon switch animation. This just punishes experimentation. Is this what you guys are talking about when you say TimeSplitters is better than Halo? >The AI is stupid They don't have tactics, they don't have any self-preservation, they don't chase you, they don't flank you, they don't search the area, they don't do anything unless you approach them, they have slow reaction times, there's little tangible difference between the various units, and they all perish quickly; GoldenEye had much better AI than this. Is this what you guys are talking about when you say TimeSplitters is better than Halo? >Level design It's just narrow, linear rectangular corridors on flat surfaces. There's no organic geometry, no interesting chokepoints and no depth. GoldenEye had great level design, yet its "successor" has CoD-tier level design without even CoD's spectacle. Is this what you guys are talking about when you say TimeSplitters is better than Halo?
I truly think Timesplitters 2 is a bad game. If you want a coop PS2 FPS, just play Darkwatch. It's actually good and remains consistent, whereas TS2 has two outright terrible levels, some okayish levels, but none I consider exceptional.
5th gen console FPS is the peak (goldeneye, powerslave, doom, duke nukem...)

It's just butthurt snoys and goldeneye babbys. The funniest are the contrarian niggers who claim the dogshit first game is the best. The only game worth a damn in future perfect but even that one is just alright.

>>12635956 Is it even Goldeneye babbys when GE annihilates TS in every metric?

>>12635959 Yes because it was made by the og devs they worship
>>12636120 ACKsHULLay, the game opens in the 1980s

/vr/ has a hateboner for console FPS because of the inherent need for auto-aim. At the same time, they absolutely worship Timesplitters and the N64 Rare shooters, which feature truly aim-bot levels of auto-aim.

>>12635936(OP) No one said this unless they were rage baiting and a lot of our issues like auto switching guns or auto aim can be turned off. Another bait thread here.
Anyway I enjoy 2 the most. Really like the challenges and the game is more refined. Either way these are fun games for coop w crazy characters and some really good music. https://youtu.be/2eIRz14pnjE?is=uF1NNBSNkhmmj8FW
>>12635936(OP) >TimesSplitters mogs Halo It doesn't and I'm the biggest fan of Time Splitters 1 on this board. >>Aiming is done automatically It's a skill to be learned and gives a distinct flow to combat other FPS games don't approach. It's the upper limit to the goldeneye style of aiming and makes the greatest demands of its players. >in TimeSplitters you are aimbotting even at long distances You need to do twitch adjustments and it feels great doing so while sweeping encounters in levels. >Weapon pickups are annoying Then disable auto switching. >They don't have tactics, They have predictable and defined behavior, perfect for an arcade game. >It's just narrow, linear rectangular corridors on flat surfaces It's various shooting scenarios you're challenged to clear then perfect.

>>12635936(OP) I was going to call you an idiot for listening to people on /vr/ but then it turns out you're an even bigger idiot for playing TS1 and not 2.
