I can't wait for war AI to be improved one day. Right now it's just stacks of units back capping each other as they slowly die to attrition

>>2406521 Nestorian Christianity if we're talking historical, it was the most widespread form of medieval Christianity in terms of how many different people believed in it, (Arabs, Persians, Indians, Steppe Nomads, Chinese, etc), if CK3 modeled religious minorities it would be all over Central Asia, and ingame it's got syncretism with the Eastern religions
>>2406560 I would genuinely prefer it if all units didn't just spawn in one county altogether. CK2 did it better where they raised them individually for each specific county then you would have to either manually rally them to where you wanted the stack to be in, or automate it to some extent by using waypoints.
Made more sense and you could create multiple stacks that could for example sacrifice themselves to tackle an oncoming army to give your other stack enough time to reach the capital and defend it.
I know they're justifying it as them just streamlining the fact that armies would usually rally together at one specific point and only from there on go to war, but the way it worked in CK2 was still better since you could technically see all the different levies of the kingdom having to march to their specific locations. Some only had like double or triple digits men, while others had thousands. It was a nice touch which made things feel just a bit more immersive and interactive to begin with.
00
Anonymous05/18/26(Mon)13:53:59
>>2406656 > That would be needlessly autistic. Rallying was put in for a good reason.
>>2406656 >CK2 did it better where they raised them individually for each specific county then you would have to either manually rally them to where you wanted the stack to be in, or automate it to some extent by using waypoints. Mobilisation was like this in vic2 and it worked great I would personally make it so that you can only raise troops from your own lands, and levies provided by your vassals are raised as allies that you can't directly control and may become rebellious, like they did in Imperator.
I haven't played CK3 in ages. I think the last DLC I bought was the Iberia one. If I want landless play I need to buy Roads to Power, right? Is it worth it?
I guess is the game as a whole worth coming back to? I remember I gave up in frustration because it was all so unfinished while the devs just kept piling on bloat. Have they balanced money now so that your cat doesn't cause property damage akin to a kingdom's yearly income? Have they fixed the crusades in this crusading game yet? Have they added the church yet? War targets for allied armies? Marriage alliences with your vassals?
>>2406760 >Have they balanced money now so that your cat doesn't cause property damage akin to a kingdom's yearly income? No. Price still scales based on realm size, but I think there's some mod out there that fixes it and a few other events in general so that they don't just straight up bankrupt you. >Have they fixed the crusades in this crusading game yet? No. >Have they added the church yet? That's the one new addition that's coming out this summer as one part of the new upcoming DLC expansion. Big rework to how faith works with specific focus on Christianity and how it works -- like with them finally adding the College of Cardinals in but also apparently letting you be able to play as the Pope or as Theocratic governments.

>>2406760 (me) Ok, I've reinstalled the game and tried it for a while. They changed some of the graphics and UI, so that looks nice. I think they also did something with the crusaders, the armies got a special symbol and all decided to clump up in rome before heading out to starve in the desert.
But holy shit, I was immediately reminded why I got so frustrated with it back then. One of the first things I did was to romance my wife. The game of course does not recognize that we're already married with children, and instead the event chain has me sneak around her and ultimately happen upon her bedchamber to save her from a rapist. Going up to that there was the event in the garden where it randomly grabbed an NPC as an antagonist, and made one of my vassals and councilors publicly insult his liege lord's wife. I beat him up and fired him from his position ofc, but you can't rp any of that when you know it's all just arbitrary rng.
