Now that we can finally play a good BPRE game, let's talk about it.
For the uninitiated, in Big Boss's voice: >Door Kickers 2: Task Force North >Nowheraki Burns mod >Close Combat Overhaul mod for extra immersion
>I'm a retard in need of spoon-feeding CQB RTWP tactical game called Door Kickers 2 and a mod based on the 28mm tabletop and comic book series called Black Powder Red Earth. Middle East post-Iraq, terrorists, politics, PMCs and war crimes.
>I hate mods, akshually... Play vanilla as Rangers, local collaborators and glowniggers. Still fun. >you've mentioned Big Boss... There's an MGS mod too, go nuts.

>>2408664(OP) The controls of this game feel so smooth. This style of top down unit controls would work so well for games like xcom and xenonauts

>>2408664(OP) You can play this dogshit in one of two ways: >real-time top-down shooter with the shittiest clunky control scheme you can imagine >planning stage rainbow six-style with terminally retarded soldiers that require 30+ commands to clear a small room or they'll literally not react to being shot to death from outside their vision cone

just got the base game and it's great only using four soldiers per mission

The Halo mod is pretty sick, having a Spartan that can just tear through the map makes for some cool plans I'd also like to see Command and Conquer, XCOM and Resident Evil mods (the generic zombie mod is neat but I wish my guys were more fashionable operators) Hell I wish this game just got way more crossovers in general, the core gameplay is just great >>2409173 >Skill issue in the second post I love this game

I remember getting filtered a couple of missions in because I'm too used to the Doorkickers 1 model of most enemies being gangbanger shitters with no armor and dinky glocks. I do want to replay it again, I remember the menu music being neato. https://youtu.be/F2ulfCffu_w
Blue Vector for the peak CAG-larp. Makes me think of the counter terror mod for Xcom and how one could make a modern Xcom like focused around modern military stuff.
>>2408664(OP) what's the mod about? I played a lot of base game and then with some mods like the FBI HRT and Blue Vector, but not this nowheraki burns

>>2426317 Are people really that inept they can't google stuff nowadays? Anyway, here's the gist: >based on a comic book series about PMCs in a post-Iraq setting where local governments use mercs as private armies to control chaos caused by ISIS >you command a PMC force that is either killing bad guys or capturing HVTs >dudes use specific equipment like .300 BLK rifles and drone strikes, but also maps are very large, so it's still challenging >your dudes will die often >graphics mimic the comic book artstyle >music is from the official game that was a total flop
>>2426317 The mod is based on the (soft reboot) of the BPRE comic, Awbari. It's about PMCs fighting jihadists and Chinese PMCs over rare earth metals in North Africa. It's also a 28mm tabletop skirmish game, which is specifically what the mod is trying to capture the vibe of.
I'm game, the Crisis Troop is most similar similar to vanilla Rangers. They field 2 sections of assault troops with a variety of roles and 1 section of scout troops. Each assault section has an advisor and drone controller that can both call down extremely powerful drone strikes. They also have access to a lot of powerful explosive weapons.
Their custom campaign is a ToD that's supposed to mimick the 28mm tabletop game. You're almost always heavily outnumbered. The jihadist enemies are numerous but lightly equipped and poorly performing, while the Chinese PMCs are well equipped and highly trained.
