insane that we have multiple large scale wars going on, interconnected through geopolitics and no real depiction of them. like WW3, or the events leading to it, have already started and there isn't a mod for it yet

>>2423229 There will never be. HOI4 is dogshit at portraying asymmetric warfare and espionage.
>>2423299 How on earth does that count? You still make a frontline with your divisions and battle individual battles to move up or back. I'm talking about real asymmetric warfare where there are partial victories and contested regions that can't ever be fully won or lost, like Vietnam IRL. The Houthis IRL don't control all of Yemen. Just like the Vietcong didn't control all of Vietnam Laos or Cambodia. Same goes for Hamas, Hezbollah, IRGC, etc. They just defacto control certain parts but they aren't broadly recognized even by the people they are "maintaining order" for.

What if 1.1 flops?
00
Anonymous06/06/26(Sat)21:02:12
>>2423323 I think the opposite. I think 1.1 will be so good that future updates will look shit in comparison. TFR kind of had the perfect conditions to craft a really good update. There probably wont be anything like it in the future.

Hello anons, I want to ask an actual modding question. I am trying to create a small vanilla mod and I want to make it so some democratic leaders can actually declare wars against nations that have generated no world tension and even against other democracies. How can I do that? I want to make it part of the leader trait, and not as a mechanic for democratic nations. For example allow Roosevelt to declare war on even other democratic nations, how do I do that?

Anonymous06/07/26(Sun)01:46:07
>>2423323 It won't. It'll make the US actually worth playing, and replayable as well.

>play TNO guangdong for the first time >save gets fucked as matsuzawa and can’t unpause without crashing >start a second game >yasuda crisis never fires Is there somewhere I can read the events?
00
Anonymous06/07/26(Sun)03:58:34
>>2423544 Why would you want to read the events? That's like cheating. Imagine flipping to the back of a book and reading the ending before getting to it naturally. A mod such as TNO is a book that deserves to be read. For, if you don't read TNO, you literally aren't playing it.

>>2423547 You’re right. Fortunately loading a save fixed the issue and I don’t have to start over again
00
Anonymous06/07/26(Sun)04:44:43
>>2423551 Good. Remember, you can't play TNO, you can only read it. So reading the entire event list is cheating.

>>2423696 Red dusk has good Vietnam content. KX also has content for Vietnam but it has all shortcomings of a KX path with tree being over in 1940 and you getting cores and war goals on the entire planet.
00
Anonymous06/07/26(Sun)15:30:42
>>2423703 Why is every asian path in KX so boring? >Tibet gets hyperborea, get cores and war goals on everyone >Baron Von Ungern gets cores and war goals on everyone >Vietnam >Japan (war goals) Snore.
What do we think of Regi Companies? I think the intention of them is to break up the template meta but of course this also means you can potentially get 5 more stat boosting slots in a division for no additional width. Kind of broken imo.

Anonymous06/08/26(Mon)04:18:42
>>2423807 They should just admit this level of autistic division granularity is pointless crap and just go back to having divisions be composed of regiments. It's ridiculous to even talk about debating what support battalions a division should have or how many battalions should be in a regiment - these things were, in most cases, decided on before the war even started in most countries and they were pretty uniform across the board: triangular divisions with 3 regiments of 3 battalions, plus a regiment of artillery of 3 medium and 1 heavy battalions, plus engineers, recon elements, logistics troops, signal troops, medical troops, and anti-aircraft and anti-tank support. There's very little point in letting the player tweak this beyond spergy dedication to replicating historical templates (which isn't even a good idea because your org will be completely tanked by all the line artillery you'd have to use, because Paradox hates artillery for some reason).
Anyone else played the new european fallout mod yet? New World Embers I was pleasantly surprised that it was full of wars from the word go. War in my war game - it's more likely than you think. But at least from the one game I played so far, the balance is WAY outta wack and the player snowballs into being completely unstoppable almost immediately
00
Anonymous06/08/26(Mon)06:24:12
>>2424307 I'd much prefer fully historical divisions and then win through tactics and strategy, I do appreciate the customisation but a lot of that is just redundant when it comes to trying to recreate the actual stuff that was used (like hypothetically having to choose between medical or radio because all the slots are taken up). A lot of mods make it even worse when they take things that in vanilla are covered by generic infantry equipment and instead make everything it's own unique bit of kit with it's own production line and company.

Anonymous06/08/26(Mon)06:27:04
>>2424327 I haven't played it yet but I did load it up to have a look around at the map, focus trees, etc. It definitely seems high potential, especially once you imagine Britain, France and a possible USSR added in. I'm keeping my eye on the Sturm tag, I want to see where they go with that.

>>2424360 They need to add Britain because there is no point in having a navy currently.
>>2424360 >>2425040 They recently toozed what the UK and Ireland will look like. >Whitehall has fallen, Westminster lies silent, and if the Queen isn't dead, she might as well be. Something stirs in the City of the Dead, ships carrying ghouls and soldiers in armour unlike any other land on the Cornish shores, and whispers of horrors spill out from London. Connacht is falling to its knees as it breaks its own knees, the raiders of Ireland are banding together; the Blackwatch balance on a knifes edge as all around them would plunder their corpses, the Highland clans watching for any sign of weakness to take the Gateway once and for all. Everyone is out for themselves, and everyone wants an escape....
>>2423513 America is already worth playing and is already replayable tho.

>>2423323 We already know from what was in the leaked build that it's practically impossible for it to flop.
>>2423356 That's definitely overestimating it. I don't think we're in for a Guangdong situation where the team destroys itself by chasing a former high and failing because the new leads never "got" what made that update popular. I think a better comparison would be a better version of KR's original China update. >Highly anticipated even if it took a very long time >Required the entire team to pull it off, somewhat over-ambitious >Released with some great tags, others that were fun but showed signs of the stretched dev process >Generally well-regarded albeit flaws >Team went on to make both better and worse things afterwards >Something of a dividing line between the old and the start of the new era for the mod
There's also the matter of the content they seem to have in the pipeline. Korean wars? New and improved European content? I don't think anyone will be upset at either. Things on the scale of Brussels Effect are fine too, the only time they were in hot water was when Kaliningrad Animal was barely playable on release and required a week of patching to work. Compare and contrast with TNO again where they went three years without anything other than Mexico, Antarctica and Fiji filling the void.

Will the devs add the Save Europe Act to Germany and France? https://www.save-europe-act.com/
This could be part of a good event series since the migrant crisis in Europe is pretty underdeveloped in TFR. The influx of Saudi refugees should absolutely create a ton of issues. China has actual mass deportation mechanics but I haven't seen any with Germany or France.
00
Anonymous06/09/26(Tue)15:26:29
>>2425355 Some Euro devs want to add more to the migrant crisis. It seems to be a thing for all future skeletons at least from what we know. I don't think they should reference the act directly though. Go about it like they did with BLM and make up their own thing. Plus the problem would be a lot worse in tfr since not only is 2015 put on steroids but the global economy is imploding sue to the ACW.

>>2425365 The TFR devs could also add a bunch of islamic tags in various European countries, representing the rapefugees coalescing and either installing a puppet govt or couping the govt altogether.
>>2425369 Islamic tags might be a bit much unless there's a civil war and they want to represent some weird enclaves.
>>2425387 >2 less useless losers on Gunther's team That alone gives him a better chance to win. Bokoen and the others were really useless so the fewer of them the less chance of a completely humiliating clusterfuck.

>>2425397 >Leftist France pre1EW will spawn a Islamic civil war tag if they lose the 1EW >Leftist Germany pre1EW spawns a Islamic tag that succeeds from Germany alongside Bavaria They're not needed but you could work them in for flavor even if you didn't want to give them content.

IF 1.1 flops, my guess is that TFR will have it's reputation ruined like TNO.
>>2425440 Highly doubt it. TNO is where it is because it's been in rework hell for half a decade, give or take. Germany is nowhere near being playable and they're just hoping to get out a demo by the end of the year that'll remove the GCW and Burgundy.
For 1.1 to fail as bad you'd need several years without any updates (no Kaliningrad Animal, Cognoscenti or WEF either) and then have the news surrounding TFR to exclusively be about purges and reworks for years. They'd have to remove the ACW altogether too just to make sure you reach the same level of community alienation TNO has. Simply put there's no way 1.1 can flop as hard as TNO has unless the mod is hijacked by people that hate HOI4 like TNO was. A more realistic scenario for a 1.1 flop would be TFX gaining momentum at their expense and devs jumping ship in the aftermath. Even releasing the big update at all would put it ahead of TNO's dismal situation.

Are 14th of June (Trump's date of birth) or 4th of July realistic launch dates for DQRK MQGQ?
>>2425459 As long as you don't post images of it, sure.
>>2425462 14th of June seems very optimistic, we could get a toozer and possibly a release date, but I wouldn't expect the update to release. 4th of July is a far more plausible release date.
>>2425459 As long as you don't use the P-word or post pictrues.
>>2425462 Ain't no way they're dropping it on the 14th but a teaser would be nice. 4th of July is also unlikely but if they do drop it it'd be the biggest W for America in years.

>>2425387 If he goes Medvedev the NATO team has to lose the 1EW because there is no way they will win if Grisha goes Dugin. Would be based if he went Prigozhin though.
>>2425512 Honestly I think they're saving some of the Russia stuff and planning to release it alongside the American Experiment as a side update for people not interested in the 2ACW stuff which would be insane if that really does end up being the case.
>>2425462 A realistic pathway to Dark MAGA would be something like a teaser on his birthday and a release on July 4th. Speaking of release dates, you fellas think 1.1 is dropping on the Second Anniversary?
