I'd be lying if I said I'd never thought about it. Mainly I'd just think about sticking my arm in there. Something about a burn is easier to deal with than a cut. You get cauterized from it. Harder to mess up and bleed out. But the feeling is an entirely different flavor from a cut. It almost hurts good.

From my time in the kitchen I have memories of people straight up K holing after cuttling massive lines on the prep table, a coworker doing a "hippie flip" which is LSD/shrooms combo then working a whole shift with no memory of it but crazy stories of the shit they thought they were doing, very regularly most of the staff being absolutely blackout drunk at times, etc etc.
