I can't tell you how to speedrun it, but I assure you, if you stay on the 'spiritual' path it becomes much easier. Separate yourself completely from your thoughts, cravings, emotions, etc. Recognize your addictions as useless attachments keeping you bound to the material plain. Be willing to endure a little suffering (a few days, weeks, at most). Use promise of increased vitality and mental clarity as motivation (feeding back into your spiritual power).

I quit cigs and weed on the same day and had no problem. Personally I enjoyed the challenge though

The secret to my success when quitting vices is posing this question to myself: “Am I weaker than my vice?” It motivates me to be the person I want to be, like a mantra or spell. Be stronger by denying compulsive weakness.

Another tip: dedicate time to the early days of hell. Stay up all night if your vices cause withdrawal symptoms. I’ve sat in one place just shaking for more than 24 hours straight before, and on the other side of hell is freedom.

Also, impose rules and conditions and obsessively follow them. 5 years ago I decided I was never allowed to buy alcohol ever again, and I haven’t. I still drink socially sometimes, but I’m never allowed to buy it for myself.

You really dont understand the concepts you are talking about. And try to conflate them with a generic good vs evil duality.

The good news is that you can finally stop waiting

You have to face yourself. Ask hard questions. Be ready for some uncomfortable truths. And be perfectly, brutally honest with yourself.

The work is boring, messy, imperfect and can sometimes drive you to the edge

I've been 7 months sober from alchohol. The first 3 months were a total nightmare. I felt like something inside of me was dieing. I felt like the world was ending.

Real change requires sacrifice. You have to be willing to let your old self go.

The next time an urge or craving hits. Instead of obeying the desire, you have to conciously choose different.

Sit with the uncomfortable feeling for 10 minutes and ride it. The pain you'll feel is the potential difference between who you are and what you can become.

I encourage the 10 minutes be done in silence with no distractions. Maybe some light relaxing music if you really need it but I think silence works best. See if you can uncover what the real underlying feeling is. And how can you address it in a way that doesn't harm you.

I must stress, do not surpress whatever it is that you have as a vice. Don't deny it, accept that its there but don't obey it.

This stuff requires a lot of self awareness. Honestly theres a lot to say but I just don't even know where to start.

I suggest looking up the works of Carl Jung. It helped me a lot.

The way I look at it is - problems are only problems if you consider them problems.

But I have a technology vice and I guess the solution is to look at all of your technology, ask yourself "What do I DO with all of this stuff?" And then reduce it to what you truly want and use.

Which is what I plan to do. Going to get rid of my 2nd laptop. I want to get rid of my Switch 2 that I unnecessarily bought but I may wait for a few kino games to come out so I can play them before I do.

But yeah technology is a major vice.

I'm also a coffee addict lol.

But yeah nothing is THAT serious. There is no you that you HAVE to become. That is just an illusion we have bought into.
