Also Taoism and cultivation teaches how to become more powerful and that a human can become a god with enough practice. So why do people love to say that it's bad to want to be powerful? I've been abused my whole life and experienced "helpless rage" so many times, and if I were powerful I could protect myself from that. So I don't think it's wrong to want power.
