Simping for McKenna is just a phase OP, you'll get over it. When you grow older and wiser you look back to his works and you realize he was speaking gibberish the entire time. His speech isn't that profound he just really likes the words: >Coalescence >Transcendental >Iridescent >Reverberating >Incandescent >Zeta Reticuli >Zenith >Modality >Mycelium
And that's about it. Everything else is just trip reports from his heavy drug use. He was wrong about I-Ching, he was wrong about Time wave Zero, his 2012 prediction failed, he was antagonistic of masculinity, making speeches about how it is a societal I'll and goes against mother Gaia and divine femininity. He stopped using psychedelics towards the end of his short life after an extremely bad trip, then got brain cancer and worried his psychedelics had caused it. Doctors assured him that they didn't, but it was most likely to save his legacy and his hurt feelings from figuring out the fact his entire life was wasted on drugs.
The only thing McKenna was good at was historical study of hermeticism and his seminars about people like John Dee were informative.

>>42540444 >The only thing McKenna was good at was historical study of hermeticism yeah I also agree OP isnt reading between the lines. mckenna is interesting, his core revelations are smart and he has a good understanding of psychedelics. but he also developed the schizo side and doesn't have logical cohesion to what he's saying. I like that he says psi compounds are more significant in our history than we are told. at first the stoned ape seems ridiculous, but then it makes a lot of sense that without psychelics and hallucinogenics we could not exist. there are articles every day finding bone pipes from 4000 years ago, we have known about cannabis, peyote, etc since the dawn of time. that's his best take from what I've seen of him, it gets misinterpreted as psilocybin caused language or gave us knowledge, I think he was on it that psychedelics have been with us early and we are not told about it since a peasant had more freedom.

While those drugs can be catalysts, for most ppl on this board they are ways to cope. The "expanded consciousness" bs is just an excuse to ignore painful emotions.
Once you get to a good place sober, you can find the benefits from the drugs

>>42540412(OP) I don't know who he is and I don't know if he was a fed or a grifter or a genuine activist, but the guy's mistake was choosing to preach that accomplishes nothing instead of forming diplomatic ties with interventionist factions in the galaxy. Hawkish ones probably exist in the space too. Or he should've formed an anti-earth bloodlines guerilla task force. So in the end, he got shot by a cancerbeam and died meaninglessly with no lasting effect.
Good people are delusional. They think exposing an opsec or doing a tour on conspiracies will change anything. The tragic irony is that in the entire history of Earth, any advancements in the rights and freedom of the common people or the slaving class only came about through violence. As ugly it is, it is because those in power do everything in their power to prevent any reforms. If people behaved like woo-minded folks, we'd still live the same lives comparable to that of Egyptian slaves.
Woo is garbage. Enlightenment is essentially telling people to suck it up. Too little of woo and total rejection of enlightenment also result in evil.
Light has to be balanced (more like backed) by darkness. Without it, there cannot be light, for light is excited state of the darkness.

I had a trip that I think was similar to his trip to the “meat locker”. The dose was very high, the experience very unpleasant. At least for the few hours I was stuck in “there” though it felt like years. I was trapped, watched myself grow old. I haven’t touched psychs in a long time, still one of my worst memories. It can get to you in horrifying ways that you cannot anticipate.

>>42545415 I agree. But he set himself up after years of preaching that the psychedelic was a feel-good mystical insightful experience that had the potential to save mankind or whatever. So he was never going to admit that he had the [Nightmare Trip from Hell]. That would have begged the question about the nature of the mushroom and of entities found in high doses of psilocybin or DMT. Would have made people wonder "Demons" or "Mental illness".
The best trip you could ever ask for is the nightmare trip, it's the nightmare trip that actually evoked radical change in your personal life. After my own trip to Hell on psychedelics, I stopped abusing drugs and alcohol and got my act together, thankful for every breath of sober reality almost 10 years later.
The "good" trips got me nowhere, just glued to sofa or a bed for 6 - 12 hours chasing nonsensical geometric shapes and colors and otherworldly artefacts and concepts on the back of my eyelids. Waste of time.
That's the only good thing I can say about the psychedelic, it's that if you're lucky and you get your absolute soul scared out of your body, you actually grow as a person afterwards. The only way to graduate the psychedelic is to be quit of them.

>>42542310 MKUltra, dumbass. If anything glowies love psychedelics, it's why they experimented with it on unsuspecting subjects, either individuals or dumping LSD in water supplies in small towns. It was initially researched as a mind control substance or potential "truth serum" to gain control of other humans. It's not the enlightening substance you want it to be
>>42545636 I don't think psychedelics make you trans. But a lot of the psychedelic community certainly love to influence other people's trips with their anti-male shit. McKenna was one such hippy who made speeches against masculinity as an oppressive egoistical force, and femininity being a beautiful chaos aligned with mother Gaia or some shit. Every time a psychonaut or hippy speaks on gender in regards to psychedelics it's usually anti-male, and I think it's because drug addicts tend to have father issues. It's the whole reason why they seek guidance or insight or wisdom from shit like Clockwork machine elves, it's because their fathers didn't wanna give them anything. So they seethe against masculinity or patriarchal role modeling and you end up with a lot of queers and trannies in the psych community. I seen them a lot back when I was doing psychedelics. Thankfully I wasn't retarded and had the common sense to just buy the drugs and do them alone at home. I hated the psychedelic "community" back then as I did then myself and I hate them now.

>>42540412(OP) I've done Mushrooms and that was honestly 1 of the best decisions I've made earlyon in my life, but it kinda went wrong after a while after my 2nd Trip and I didn't like myself and went through a dark time mentally, and my anxiety is back too which can be hard to manage at times but I am pulling through. What would your advice be? To just stay sober and see what happens, and to do mushrooms again after a certain time of being sober, or to just stay sober if/when I feel more "normal" again and balanced?
I've definitely learned that Mushrooms aren't something to take lightly, and so I am probably staying sober for the foreseeable future.

>>42540444 >>42545415 >>42545623 Interesting Anons I only just recently started getting into psychedelics, and trust me when I say that these were really low doses that I took both times, and the first was really good before and after, and the second was good too but a while after something in me "flipped" a switch and I went into a really depressive mentalstate for like a month or so, and I am still battling that I think mentally, so I hope that after 6m or so I am back to "normal" and can just get on with my life...I have already made a lot of changes in my life since, so I am not really jumping for joy at the thought of doing more psychedelics anytime soon.
>>42547401 Especially knowing that it could have been a lot worse for me mentally, I have actually managed to pull through, so I consider myself lucky, and want to just try living sober again.
>>42547451 I don’t think this is anything unusual. You will most likely go back to normality. Though if you’re not, if you become convinced you’re in the truman show or something like that, you may need help. I suggest you don’t do psychedelics anymore. Mostly because these are drugs for happy people, not people are hanging on by a thread. People who are susceptible to thinking everyone around them is faking it. Very bad for you.

>>42540444 I like Timewave Zero, but not how he went about deciding what inputs to use and the process for calculating it. he is more or less looking to parameterize and programmatically analyze how cultures rise and fall. in 4chan memetics lingo, he would've been mathematically plotting out the memetic stages of life to the point of culture death, his point of either maximum or minium entopic novelty. social scientists use similar terms to refer to how the founding principles of a culture will eventually play themselves out. and then, of course in typical metaphysical analysis, he applies the same Timewave analysis to the broader human experience to see how the rise and fall of the human race can show the same rise and fall of the constituent parts.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scale_invariance
Timewave Zero is a really good effort at it, regardless of how correct it was. I am certain that if he were around today with the data we have, he would easily be able to pull off the analysis he wanted to do, short the part where the world ends in some sort of infopocalypse or whatever.

I have a strong feeling the reason majority of the hippy culture and modern leftism is so inverted and gay is because of faggots like this guy. It doesn't have to be this way, they've really done a good job funding and pushing these ideas. Someone else people seem to worship when he's actually one of them himself is George Carlin. People can't seem to understand the concept of controlled opposition. "We're all one guys, everything someone does can be understood and ultimately anything anyone does to you is your fault!" Says the hippy abuser. There seems to be this inverted nwo spirituality they use people/agents of chaos for spreading such nihilistic ideas. It's like some boomer spirituality where they believe God and Jesus to only be metaphors, and a lot of confused and scared people looking for answers fall for it. Lot easier to digest then there being a higher spiritual issue at hand
